legally speaking, she is right on a technicality. I am not sure how it works in the UK (assuming since GBP was used in another reply), but until everything is submitted and passed, you are in all technicality still married. Sure, the social contract is broken, but legally it is a whole different level of crazy. So there is a chance that, since the divorce has not been legally filed to break the partnership. It creates all kinds of problems, but I 100% understand the WTF of the situation.

My ex wife tried to say something similar when she tried to pull her contributions to joint for the house payments when she left. That was a "NO NO, WE ARE STILL MARRIED AND WE AGREED TO SELL THE HOUSE. You stop paying for it, you abandoned it, and legally speaking that it not a fun time. Your name is on the mortgage just as mine, so until the paperwork goes through, it is just as much a liability to you as it is to me.". So I can't really assume malice here, but just raw technicality.

That just means she feels entitled to something of yours still. Mine tried that when I changed bank accounts and she didn't have my income anymore lol
