Do you guys ever look at where the ex is now and feel bad?Yep, feel that. Mine got pregnant early (around 18/19) and never got to "sow her wild oats" I guess, and the decided it was time to do that after we had two children lol. Feel a lot of betrayal and the divorce brought out the worst in both of us, but trying to get towards a spot of indifference. Never really mattered how much money we brought in as the spending increased right alongside with it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/25 02:46 PM

Do you guys ever look at where the ex is now and feel bad?I'm really sorry to hear that. :( I lost my aunt to cancer and it was really challenging | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/25 01:54 PM
Weekends suck. What's your best post divorce moment?Still recovering financially, but I have some money to do the things I want here and there. I got my car running that sat for the duration of my marriage, took it up and down the block, and then bought a supercharger for it. Whoops. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/09/25 11:49 PM
Dating post divorce is toughMmmm, I guess to help take care of the kids? I genuinely don't mind helping if they weren't shitty, but at the same time. I pay my CS, cover medical, games, etc . I don't ask for help on my days, I watch them. Replaced their fridge and stove when those went out. I think they just want money, as shitty as that sounds. Bit of a fine line though as when I push back I'm just a shit person. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/09/25 02:06 AM
Dating post divorce is toughAgreed 100%, that's part of what I'm working on now! Mostly just processing things from my last relationship that seem to come up in this one | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/09/25 01:19 AM
Dating post divorce is toughHAHAHAHA SAME!! | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/09/25 09:12 PM
Did your young kids adjust well to a 7/7 schedule?I'd 100% be open to doing something like that, right now with practices and games even swapping 7/7 I'd still see the kids Wednesday, Friday, and at games but yeah the option for either parent to take the kids to dinner or something about midways through the week would be really nice. Also, kudos to you doing this with a 3 year old, that feels gutwrenching when I think about my son being 3 when we separated. Are the kids doing okay? | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/08/25 01:51 PM
Best quote since separation...That just means she feels entitled to something of yours still. Mine tried that when I changed bank accounts and she didn't have my income anymore lol | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/08/25 11:00 AM
Struggling today to let go. Could use some words of advice. How did you get better? And be the best dad for your kids? I'm lost | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/08/25 02:35 PM
Dating after marriageSounds like you did the right thing by blocking her and moving on. Everyone is dealt a different hand of cards and assuming she's genuine about losing her sons, it's okay to grieve. But if she's threatening to end things, she should really be getting mental help and not developing an attachment to someone else. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/08/25 02:45 PM
Why did you get married in the first place?Read this OP. My ex and I were absolutely invincible together, handled everything life through at us. Until we got in our own way and everything went to hell. My ex changed, and I probably did too, but the person I married doesn't have any of the traits that my ex does today. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/03/25 02:23 AM
Court is neutering me in the devorce.Guardian ad litem And they are for the children, if there is food, a roof, and no signs of abuse to the children, they'll likely lean on 50/50. This recommendation also allows the judge to cop out and go with their decision as they were "closer" to the home | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/03/25 12:15 PM
Got my sock! Still mixed feelings moving forward.I'm in Alabama, which is generally a 50/50 state. I filed because I saw no other way out. I didn't want the separation or divorce, but it was the whole "I haven't been happy and don't want to spend the next ten years unhappy." She refused to work on things with me, or on herself. There were a number of months I didn't see my daughter, and she would just say "fuck you, figure it out yourself" when I would push to spend time with her. I make decent money and was covering the bills,l by myself, but… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/03/25 04:27 PM
Does anyone else feel this way?Ah yeah, I didn't finish reading and asked if you were still in IT. Also finalizing a divorce in IT struggling with hobbies and lost interest in video games aha, I watch a good bit of MMA but don't have any boxing gyms close to me unfortunately | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/02/25 01:10 AM
Does anyone else feel this way?Edit: im an idiot | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/02/25 09:48 PM
Need opinion tables turnedYou can't put a price on your happiness. If it's bound to end, better to start now so you can start the healing process. PS this is going to suck | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/02/25 02:01 AM
Signing the papers Monday...$3500 was the initial retainer, I'm prolly in an additional 15k minimum lol | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/02/25 05:56 PM
February 9, 2022. Single Father. Divorced.Are you guys on decent terms? | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/02/25 01:49 AM
AITA for buying my ex wife flowers on V-day, after the divorce?Asshole? No. Simp? Maybe. You'll see a lot of response that essentially says not to waste your money, that women are terrible, and you're better single. While most of those are things are reasonable and probably accurate, I can't help but feel like it stems from the feeling of being betrayed, which I get. I'm in the same boat. I've lost everything I've worked for, the person I married betrayed our vows, and now at best I get to spend 50% of my time with my kids until they fly the coop at 18. Woo… | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/02/25 02:46 AM
Did you ever reconcile after the divorce?Yes, agreed 100% l. We grow and change, and I had always been willing to love and nurture this person to the best of my abilities. For a long time we were invincible, there wasn't anything that could tear us apart, until we got in our own way. I guess my biggest concern is the lack of trust and safety, I don't see that in her anymore. Why come back now after I've let go? Why within days of you thinking I'm in a serious relationship with someone else? After 16 months of separation that I didn't a… | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/01/25 07:55 PM
Did you ever reconcile after the divorce?Yep, that's kind of where I'm at. I don't see a romantic future with her today, but even if I did, I'd have to see the changes. She's working again, which is great. She says she's started medication that makes her deathly ill if she drinks alcohol. She says she's going to therapy and addressing her BPD. But the reality is, I can't force myself to love her. I let go of the marriage and moved on. I would like to be cordial and or friends one day, but I can't see myself wanting anything more. She i… | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/01/25 07:02 PM
*UPDATE* Did you guys give your STBXW the courtesy of letting her know you were dating again?Yep agreed 100%, I've spent a year working on myself. I'm certainly not where I want to be, but I'm making progress every day for sure. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/01/25 03:00 PM
*UPDATE* Did you guys give your STBXW the courtesy of letting her know you were dating again?Precisely, she doesn't want me. She just wants to make sure someone else can't have me. I hate it because I do think she is genuinely unhappy with her life, but I begged and pleaded for her to stay. I pleased for her to not hide that we were married, or to take her rings off. I tried telling her whatever it is that she was going through, life isn't all sunshine and daisies outside of the marriage. I really do feel awful, but why now? We separated in Sept of '23 because she was unhappy, which tel… | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/25 11:18 PM
Did you guys give your STBXW the courtesy of letting her know you were dating again?Yeah, that's a good point. We were unfortunately extremely intertwined so to be honest, it would only be a short period of time before she were to find out. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/12/24 09:44 PM
Did you guys give your STBXW the courtesy of letting her know you were dating again?Yep that's already gonna be in it, no introducing a significant other for X months. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/12/24 09:39 PM
Uninstalled tinder this morning, I hate this stage of datingI appreciate the comment, I dont know that I'm butthurt, but we probably could have done a better job communicating things | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/12/24 10:39 PM
Uninstalled tinder this morning, I hate this stage of datingThis girl was super sweet, has a daughter, and I'm not ready for anything serious (neither is she) but man. It was just awkward. I'd sleep with her again but in the back of my head I'm thinking there's a 0% chance she's moved on and we're wasting each others time lol | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/12/24 10:13 PM
Who else felt like they were forced to initiate the divorceYep, I had to file not because I wanted to, but because I felt like I would lose my daughter if not. She kept me from seeing my adopted daughter for several months, I even have recordings of her saying my 10 year old might not ever talk to me again if she finds out she's adopted. Makes me wonder if she truly understands what it takes to adopt a child and care for them unconditionally... After filing we put in a pendente lite order and got a GAL, so I'll end up with 50/50. Fucking sucks as this i… | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/12/24 01:12 PM
I want to take a few days to myself. Where can I go?Gonna have to skip out on the lady boys lol | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/12/24 12:55 AM
Court tomorrow! Emergency. Need legal advice. How did it go? | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/08/24 04:08 PM
STBXW hits the nuclear button...How did things work out? My daughter has her own bed room, she's always slept in it. Occasionally we'll have a movie night in the living room with the kids but that's about it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/07/24 02:05 AM
STBXW hits the nuclear button...As far as I know they've just requested a GAL which is no big deal, I mean we had one when I adopted her 7 years ago. You know, if this were flipped and I genuinely felt like my wife was abusing our children, I would have requested emergency custody and DHR to get involved. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/07/24 12:49 AM
STBXW hits the nuclear button...I don't know yet, I'm waiting to hear from my attorney. Just really upset at the entire thing. How do I go from providing for, buying a house, her car, adopting our daughter, having a child of our own to.... A monster? Wtf | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/07/24 12:33 AM
