I had a pretty gnarly divorce, separated in Sept of '23 and finalized of March of '25, two younger kids together, both of us turned 30 this year.

The entire thing was contentious and extremely toxic, I posted about a month ago about learning my lesson. Long story short, we were working on reconciling, turns out there was another guy lol. To each their own, I'm not super bent out of shape about it outside of being lied to.
Started chatting it up with a girl I've know for about a year and things are going relatively well, fun to be with, sex is great, she's truly a sweetheart.

But something just doesn't feel right, it's almost as if I'm just waiting on the other shoe to drop, you know? I have to keep reminding myself that not every woman on the planet sucks, and that a lot of what's coming up is probably just due to insecurities from my last marriage. Nothing that she's done specifically. This entire thing has become a bit of a mental obstacle in and of itself, coupled with the ex somehow still figuring out a way to be petty.

The ex saw a photo posted of myself and the other girl out and about one day and promptly told my 11yo daughter I was dating someone. Which is a bit frustrating as it's not something I wanted my kids to know unless they turned serious, but I sat her down and we had a conversation about it.

Now all of a sudden communication with the ex is worse, my ex cant watch kids on days she previously agreed to(not a huge deal but missed out on a car meet I'd planned 4 months ago), the ex MIL wants money and I'm a piece of shit because I'm putting my foot down and letting her know my only financial obligation is the CS I pay every month.

Anyways guys, if you haven't read it 1000 times over, divorce sucks. It's an absolute shit show. But there is a light at the end of a tunnel. And things will come up in the next relationship(s) that are iffy. And the ex will probably make your life a bit worse.

But you'll be alright.
