I do these things in the way that is easiest for me. I don't make it a challenge, and I don't need to prove to anyone how brave or confident I am. I don't need to force myself to have a deep, strong, masculine voice. I don't project my voice and talk from the diaphragm, I don't keep weird eye-contact...... everything I do is super-easy, no pressure, no anxiety/shyness, I continue only if I see it's worth it. Otherwise, I leave, and the woman doesn't even know I was trying to hit on her.

If being direct is easy and efficient for you, that's great. However, I've seen that it's 1000 times more efficient if I create a context (force a momentum) to talk with a stranger and escalate only if I see a minimum sign of interest. But if it works for you, as you said, keep doing as you wish. I'm not jealous of you.
