You’re making point, I think. Yes, many early grievances and concerns were warranted. But they always existed in a vacuum.

If it was called genderism, it would have been honest. There always existed heuristics and biases that both genders took advantage off. I don’t recall the suffragettes demanding military service, I do remember many examples of them shaming men who refused to enlist.

An ideology consists of a finish line, and you’ll never find a day when the champagne bottle pops for feminism. It is designed to scream, yell and complain. It’s a powerful tool to control men. It is a prime heuristic for femininity, one necessary for women to have survived the violence next to men. Again, if this was a serious discussion among healed minds, we discuss all the crazed biases that brought us here. But it’s not.

Instead feminism and social media trip-wired something in a giant pool of our population. They’ll never see men deserving empathy.

The way you're discussing the suffragettes as a monolith demonstrate your lack of knowledge regarding history. Emmeline Pankhurst and a group of suffragettes supported the war time efforts and they encouraged women to get involved. However, Sylvia Pankhurst and a different group of women were completely opposed to conscription and the war in general and absolutely protested.

Some suffragettes did participate in the white feather campaign, you have to remember that they are a product of their time though. The country was in an active war and the white feather campaign was a form of propaganda to shame men who didn't fight, you cannot apply the knowledge we have now about war time propaganda onto individuals who were living during that time, who were trying to survive a war and who were told that getting more men to enlist in the military would bring the war to an end quicker.

Feminism is a broad ideology that encompasses numerous branches that each have a different perspective on how to attain the 'end goal'. Generally speaking, the end goal of feminism is to exist in a world that has complete social, economic and political equality between men and women.

Reads too much like AI — the flow and specific wording.

It downplays the White Feather movement and fails to mention it was in response to fewer men joining the armed forces. Which was started by Admiral Fitzgerald. It also doesn’t mention the draft in 1916. Which expanded a few times — expanded the age range and went on to include married men.

Also enlisted men were shamed. It was any man they deemed to be not fighting for the country and that included men recovering from injuries sustained on the frontlines.

Also it doesn’t make a connection between Emmeline Pankhurst and Sylvia Pankhurst — they were mother and daughter. The difference in opinion caused a division.

Also it completely omits the nature of suffragettes. Which was terroristic. They lead a bombing campaign.

And completely forgets about the suffragists. Who actually cared more about the rights of men. They wanted men and women to have the right to vote. Not just the rich.

Also that goal has been reached and surpassed. Congratulations 🥳🎉

I don't use AI, I disagree with it due to the impact it has on the environment, nice failed observation though. When in doubt blame AI I suppose.

I didn't go into detail about the specifics of the white feather campaign because it wasn't relevant to the comment I was responding to. The information you have provided also simply isn't relevant, the point is that it was a propaganda tool used to shame men into enlisting in the military and knowledge we know about war time propaganda now cannot be applied to individuals of that time who deeply believed in what they were told.

Again, their relationship isn't relevant to what I was talking about. The point is that many suffragettes had differing opinions about the war.

That goal has not been universally reached, there are many countries that do not have equal rights between men and women and you are being intellectually dishonest if you honestly believe the world has achieved equality.

I’m assuming it follows on from enlistment. That could pretty much be applied to almost anything.

They went out of their way to shame men they deemed weren’t a soldier and weren’t fighting for their King and country. They were individuals who choose to shame men.

Again? That’s two individuals, and yes it is. It damaged their relationship. One was anti-war and the other wasn’t.

They weren’t just part of the movement. They were related and part of it.

Yes, they were individuals and chose to do something but that statement completely ignores the environment in which they existed in, the propaganda they were exposed to and the overarching beliefs during that time.

That could apply to anyone — the soldiers who went to war or those who handed out white feathers.

What type of propaganda would cause someone to pin a badge — with ties to four feathers — to men’s lapels?

as I keep saying, my point was there were a multitude of opinions held by different suffragettes during the war time and it is unfair to talk about them as a monolith and state they all believed the same thing.

Yes there can be a slight difference between the beliefs or thoughts of an individual and that of a group.

The only thing can be relied on is, the goals of the movement and the actions of it. Because something they believed tied them to be part of that movement.

Feminism is not a UK ideology, it is a global ideology so it wouldn't make sense to only refer to the UK when talking about the goals of feminism.

It’s so you can’t switch to different countries and claim because this bad thing is happening over there feminism is still relevant in countries that have reached some resemblance of equality.
