A subtle but powerful change you could have made -

"I'm going to X bar at Y time" instead of "Let's meet here".

Don't give her an option. Tell her without telling her "This is what I"m doing, you're welcome to come along".

Try to say less in general. Cut whatever you can down. As soon as a connection is established, move to logistics and stay on topic.

Me: you driving here. We'll switch places.

As much as we all enjoyed your wit, pleading with her opened you up to: "then sorry to break it to ya,"; her getting closure.

Logistics: even if it's boring--because she's already interested, and the real pleasure is to meet you in person.

IMO you were doing well up until the ':(' - this makes it seem like you're going to be sad/upset if you don't see her.

Nonchalance would be a better approach, telling her you were going there irrespective of if she is going there too could have caused her to meet you there out of possible jealousy over other women that would be there (perhaps, I assume you guys have spoken before enough for you to invoke feelings despite not meeting IRL yet).

Remember the abundance mentality, which should be part of your mindset, tells you you're going to find a great girl at that bar regardless of whether she is there or not. Other than that I think this was a good maintaining of frame.

I would respond with: sorry kinda busy gotta go. hit me up next time you're in the neighborhood.

You don't want to be 30 mins away because it's a pain in the ass to get her to come to your place unless it's close by. You could drive her but then it's a pain to drive her back to her car. Who has time for all that?
