I wonder why the article doesn't mention women who are in prison for very good reasons, such as murderers and rapists.

They want to fix the women who are in prison, but what about the men who are also imprisoned for "non-violent" or minor crimes. Prison can be just as traumatic for men as it is for women, men who have trauma, who were victims of sexual abuse, rape, physical violence in their childhood, men who have families, children, partners "that prison breaks their family"? What about the men who are raped and killed in prison to the point where it becomes a joke, "don't drop the soap"?

But when it comes to female prisoners, it's a global crisis?!

Classic double standard.
