I have been in the online men's space for 17 years, and things just keep getting worse for men. Men keep getting more disenfranchised from society, while women get more power. I don't forsee any positive changes because women view men as disposable, and men fight each other over women's approval. Every aspect of society has been changed with gynocentrism in mind.

"Men need to show up"

This article is pretty bad. I've read this exact article many times before. Essentially says "Men need to start actively engaging, speak for themselves, and participate thoughtfully in discussions about gender rather than leave the narrative to others or shrink from scrutiny." And as usual it falls apart under the un-reality of it's own premise. Here we are. Advocacy for men has never waned. We've been speaking up for twenty years and more. The truth is male advocacy has always been showing up and and also always been attacked and marginalized. Universities have disbanded male advocacy clubs, cancelled talks, advocacy is branded as hate and misogyny, and summits and talks have been disrupted and cancelled by feminist activists. Governments bow before the feminist lobby but show active disdain for men. Basic male advocacy is labelled as misogyny. Men are showing up, but it's hard to take a place at the table when they won't let you in the door. The article has the absolute gall to blame patriarchy, which is very convenient because it means you can just blame something nebulous like the system or men for men's issues while continuing to doing nothing at all. The person who wrote this is either monumentally ignorant of the situation on the ground and a useful idiots or a bad faith actor who is being knowingly malicious. I suggest doing actual research on the history and challenges of male advocacy and writing an article about that.

This article is much better and takes an evidenced based approach to demonstrating just one of the many ways in which boys and men are discriminated against today - the education pipeline. The author stops short of any serious analysis of causes and simply puts them in a black box called "structural issues". They also don't really prescribe any solution so this is more of a ringing of the bell.

What it fails to do is suggest two whys: Why is this happening, and why should we, as men, care?

There continues to be evidence, growing in number beyond anecdotal, that there are areas in leadership and high-knowledge fields that men are needed, perhaps because they are more capable, or perhaps to serve as a check, or balance, against work generated and/or overseen by women. I will likely be dead before enough evidence is collimated and any media covers the story.

Why should men care? Enough men are innovators that ways will become known to avoid the traps, and still prosper. That’s already developing now, with self-employment, consulting and contracting, and separate professional circles. Men will work within, and without, the law and societal norms to get what they want. It is what we do.

I very much support you and what you're doing. I've considered writing more myself, and speaking out more. Sadly, I do worry about my own future were I to do so. I have several partially written pieces I eventually intend to publish publicly once I'm sure I've framed them in such a way as to be beyond reproach. You would be in danger of being economically cut off if you were discovered, but not successful enough to making a living with your writing. I think the article "men need to show up" is very telling about the state of men -- insomuchas as you've stated you're afraid to do this publicly and I understand why.

However, the article is a bit too prescriptive for me. You're inadvertently including some ideas that I disagree with. I understand why you feel that you need to step up, but who are these "men" and why do they need to "step up?" Does it include me? Certainly, if people are at risk of financial instability due to stepping up, you need to make a very strong case. There's a moral obligation you're putting on people in addition to yourself -- and that's dangerous territory.

You seem to believe that these arguments are in good faith in the first place, and you accept the framing of Patriarchy. Patriarchy was only real insomuch as women spent a lot of time pregnant leaving men to do the other things in society. It shouldn't be a surprise that 2nd wave feminism took off shortly after widely available birth control pills. Therefore, it cannot be dispensed with using evidence and reason. Please, consider "no debate theory," which is the idea that basically the idea that the debate itself is illegitimate. Critical theorists use this tactic to excellent effect by reframing and obviating debates, or refusing to engage on certain topics.

Choosing the terrain, on which you argue, enables you to actually move the rhetorical territory to something in your favor. We're not debating over outcomes, we're debating over human rights which everyone should be entitled to regardless of the past. The statistics and numbers are only useful insomuch as they prove to men that men are being discriminated against -- the people doing the discrimination already know and don't care. What they are doing is acting out retribution for past wrongs.

The truth of the matter is that much of what is being advanced in society is carried out by individuals with deeply sociopathic tendencies and are abusing rhetoric and language. Now, I'm not suggesting that they're some kind of secret cabal; but I am suggesting that sociopaths push the same harmful or destructive viewpoints. They want to hurt people, and they are given cover by claiming the moral high-ground. This moral cover must be challenged or exposed.

How do you actually deal with sociopaths if they're not engaged in any kind of overt crime?

The reality is that, intended or not by the participants, there is a demographic decline, institutional exclusion, cultural delegitimization, and systematic disenfranchisement, being carried out against western men -- and straight white men in particular. Those are the defining characteristics of a soft genocide. We are engaging in an extremely sensitive topic that most people will not want to acknowledge. At this point, there is more than ample evidence that this is being carried out. I do believe that there are plenty of pathological individuals that have been empowered over the last 80 years and believe they are doling out some kind of divine retribution and social good. But, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions."

The manosphere needs to wake up about the reality of what is happening to men as a demographic group and start taking protective actions, not offensive ones, and engaging in engaging in very strategic rhetoric. If someone does not identify with men as a group, or as "a white male," but has white skin, and is male, then congratulations because you are going to be forced to into the same fate as the rest of us. We don't want to be a group, but we need to be. And, that will get us accusations of racism and everything else -- despite it being effectively forced upon us.

Some actions taken by men 100–200 years ago were clearly wrong. That does not make contemporary individuals morally responsible for those actions. However, the decline of the Christian moral framework in Western society has left a vacuum, and humans, being naturally tribal, have reverted to group-based blame. The result is the rise of scapegoating, with white men increasingly treated as the target demographic. Christianity was historically a bulwark against these dynamics — it helped end slavery, rather than causing these problems.

It deeply concerns me as a member of this group. History provides many examples of the consequences when societies normalize scapegoating. A society cannot function as genuinely multiethnic if blaming others is encouraged or accepted. At its core, much of Christian teaching seeks to reveal and warn against the dangers of unfairly blaming others.

Additionally, it’s important to identify the target audience for each piece, as different groups respond to different arguments and types of evidence. Labels can be misleading — for example, many women who identify as “radical feminists” may not hold extreme positions when approached thoughtfully. You need to be careful not to inadvertently include the wrong people in your arguments, as this can undermine your overall message. This dynamic is especially visible among Millennial and Gen Z men, who often bear the brunt of social and institutional pressures, while Boomers and Gen X largely retain their positions of influence. Men are increasingly treated as collectively culpable for historical or societal wrongs, yet the consequences fall primarily on those who lack power — often the very men who never had influence in the first place.

I do not mean to be overly pessimistic — some people can be persuaded, but it’s a very delicate process. Growing a coalition as broadly as possible should be the goal, and achieving that will require careful debate and strategic engagement. My personal advice for men participating in this effort is to identify a villain clearly enough that anyone can recognize them, but narrowly enough that it implicates no one outside the intended scope and does not create unintended identification. A shared, clearly defined adversary can serve as the unifying force that brings people together.
