Back in the day, you kinda NEEDED your neighbors in order to survive. There was no Doordash, no Internet, babysitters were only for the wealthy nobles. Your neighbors were your only source of information and help. That's why people in the past were so worried about what the community might think about them.

Nowadays, people can order food and groceries using delivery and the Internet is an endless source of entertainment that's why many people nowadays don't give a flying fck about what the neighbors think. Even my boomer parents watch Netflix in their free time and post shit on Facebook and they don't want to hang out with friends because it's too much of a hassle.

This is the same with relationships. People don't get it but back then you had nobody. There were not many handymen to help fix your house, your husband had to do that. There was no Doordash, no Uber. Especially not in the countryside..People needed their families to survive in their day-to-day life. This is not the case anymore. Even with sex, it's hard to care when we have easy access to porn. People have no incentive to get married. People have no incentive to make an effort. Marriage provides no benefits except an extra paycheck. Nobody cares about making this work. Expect it to become a lot worse with AI girlfriends.
