Also my opinion: a lot of people know what advice they want to hear and with an online forum they can just find the person whose advice mirrors that and hamster

If women really preferred asking subreddits instead of friends for these subjects those subreddits would be gynormouslynmegafucking huge. They're not. A small chunk of women like the anonymity of reddit but by and large they talk to friends and family.

As a woman, here's a handful of reasons:

Anonymous
Get a variety of opinions
Get unbiased opinions
Talk to people who know the subject better (how many boyfriends know how to makeup, seriously?)
Just to talk...? Makeup and clothes are just a normal part of female conversation as football is to males.
They aren't exclusive. I can talk to both.

because they know too much. Women highly rate another womans opinion.

They know that they cant give men honest advice, so they assume that men also cannot give them honest advice.
