Hello everyone, I have been divorced for approximately 7 months and splitting 50/50 custody of my two kids (M/8 & F/4)
Christmas rolled around last year and my ex didn’t communicate at all the she was getting our son a cellphone. When I found out I was less than thrilled because this is a big decision. I didn’t feel as if a, at the time, 7 year old needed a phone.
The divorce was final two months after Christmas and we now live separate. I noticed a few months ago that I couldn’t access any setting to put blockers in place for content on my son’s phone. I also noticed that she had her location shared with herself.
I brought up my concerns about him having unlimited access to the internet at his age and that I wasn’t comfortable with him having his location shared on my weeks with the kids. Nothing was done about this.
Today I noticed that now her boyfriend(her affair partner) also has access to his location. I sent a text stating how I was not comfortable with her, let alone her boyfriend having that when it comes to my son.
What is your take on this? I feel as if it’s an invasion of me and my child’s privacy when it is my parenting time, I do not want nor have his location when he is with her.
Looking for honest feedback because it feels incredibly bad to be argued with when it comes to, what feels like, a very basic ask.
I’m dropping his phone off to her tomorrow and it will not be returning with him when it is my parenting time.
Thank you for taking your time to read.
