First off, I want to acknowledge this is a throw away (because I would never want what I'm about to type tied to my personal name), so I'm sure there will be more than a handful of skeptics, but I promise you that what I'm about to tell you is 100% true.

I'm a 25 year old guy that is slightly above average looking (generally good looking with a few characteristics that take me from an 8 to a 6-6.5, if I'm being honest with myself) and has terrible game (I've had bouts of anxiety and depression since I was in my early teens, which make it super hard to cold approach).

Fortunately, I grew up in a state where I was rather good looking among the guys in my area. MySpace started to get pretty big when I was about 13, so from 13-18, I was actively on it, mostly just using to connect with other girls in all the high schools around me. Because of MySpace and living in two different states in that time frame, I was at 56 girls by the time I was a senior in high school.

Throughout Sophomore-Senior year, I experimented a ton too and had 3 FFM threesomes and 5 MFM threesomes, mostly due to MySpace.

I then went to college and joined a fraternity where my number sky rocketed almost 40 in 3 semesters. I moved again to a new state, and after my number passed 150 from online dating apps, I lost count.

When I first moved and tinder was just starting out, it was insane. I'd message 30 girls in a day and have 25 of them respond and carry conversation with me. With Tinder, I slept with another 60+ girls in a year time frame (some literally in the same night with them having zero knowledge of my previous lay hours before). The year after was another 30 or so, but started to get pretty bad after. At this point in my life, I message 30 in a week and get 5 responses with maybe one 6/10 girl that wants to follow through with meeting.

I'm now somewhere in the 250 range at this point.

Things to note:

-As hard as it may be to believe with the numbers, I was actually pretty damn picky about the women I've slept with. I'd say I've slept with no more than 20 5/10 girls, with most being thin-curvy in between 6-8/10, with quite a few 8.5-9.5s.

-Me, personally being a 6-6.5/10, went down to a 5.5-6/10 when I moved states. I don't have trouble getting laid, but it's definitely way way way harder to sleep with anything above a 7/10, partially because my confidence is still shit due to my own insecurities. To add to this, I'm average height, have bad skin, etc.

-The most attractive girls I slept with was when I was in my prime in working out (was taking hormones and lifting a ton and just had a very aggressive personality). At this point in my life, I'm way skinnier due to work and I bang 1-2 girls every month or two.

-I am fully aware that I am a sex addict, as my mood will be completely dependent on if I've hooked up with a girl recently.

-MySpace was huge in getting my number up in high school & boosting my low confidence from successful hookups, but I also have online dating and being in a fraternity to thank too.

-Sex with ~250 different girls and probably in the 500-600 range for hookups total (everything else other than sex)

For the guys on here who have slept around with at least 20 different women or well above that in their entire lives

My notch count is only 9 and I'm 28 years old. Until very recently my notch count was only two (been in a LTR for 9 years). However I got better at this and had 7 plates in the past 6 months and several make ups (around 20 I guess).

From my personal experience and observations what helped me:

Maximizing looks. Went from 25% to 16% body fat and gain some muscle definition. Dressing well. White teeth, etc, etc.
Escalating careless. I don't know how to smothly escalated so I just escalate as much as I can. Escalating careless and confidently shows non needdy desire. If a girl is already minimally interested in you this will turn her a lot even if she shuts you down on the first times.
Good dates. I'm way above average in terms of personality. Most guys I'm competing are painfully boring. I went on a lot of dates and even decided to not escalate some dates because I wasn't that attracted to them. Even those girls had a good time.
No fapping. How you can hunt if you're not hungry?
Being a jerk is overrated IMO. When you're a prick most girls became resentful and it leads to poor interactions.
Always set boundaries. This is very important!
I use alcohol a lot. It helped to kick start and lower inhibitions. But now I think it's hurting my progress. My skill isn't improving because of that. My priority is cutting alcohol to an absolute minimum.
I still have a lot of aproach anxiety. In fact I rarely cold approach and never did a sober cold approach in my life.

BTW I'm 5'11 bareoot, 170 pounds and 16% body fat and live in a small a southern european city around 150K population.

EDIT: Forget to mention that online dating is not worth at least in my city. Tinder is almost unexisting. Approaching acquaintances on facebook is lame as well. I once get a date from a online dating website caled badoo. One of the most attractive girls I saw on that site and still she was slighty fat. Girls who are worthy aren't online dating. This may be wrong for big cities or the anglo-sphere.

I'm not someone you'd probably want an answer from since my count is fairly low, but lately I've been seeing a lot of minor success when going out (makeout sessions mostly). I've made out with more girls in the past few months than I have my whole life and I realized it's because I'm going out a lot. Recently started a fairly high paying job out of college so I can afford clubbing pretty much every weekend. I think it's all statistics really. Also after a few times I've gotten the whole meet a girl on the dance floor and make out within seconds thing down, it's almost a guaranteed thing whenever I go out. I'm thinking at this rate I'll be able to actually f close a lot more times than not after some more practice. Playing the numbers game.

So what I really want to know is what lifestyle choices you made that made it possible for you to sleep around so much.

Being on every dating and hookup app on the planet + hitting the bar and club scene consistently and being shameless about what I wanted.

For a 40yo dude it's one girl per 1 year 20 - 40. For a 30yo it's 2 girls per year 20 - 30. For a 25yo it's 4 girls per year 20 -25. A girl once each 3 months. So...

Mystery has high lay count.

I know that looks can help, game can help, charisma can help, and money can help but I know of guys who have those yet still aren't there yet in terms of their sex life.

If one has looks, game, charisma and money that's basically all you need, assuming one goes out and approaches.

I started with PUA, found TRP. Both have their places. I work on my finances and my looks (for most guys it's 9/10 lift + 1/10 style - fitting clothes and grooming).

That's it. Want to get laid - you HAVE to go out and try to pull.

BTW: the goal is not "to have 999 girls fucked", because that's meaningless in content.

The guy that got laid the most at my school was always getting arrested and doing drugs. He is now serving a ten year sentence for pushing drugs. Just because some characteristics are attractive to women doesn't mean you have to emulate them. Do what works for you.
