I've been learning to dance (ballroom/latin dances) at a studio for about 5 months. The girl and I have great chemistry, shit talking back and forth all the time. Our relationship is fun/fine the way it is, being only the student/teacher/friends dynamic. Besides, her work policy does not allow for students/teachers to "mingle" outside of class.
So I have this boundary in mind, but sometimes she pokes at it, and I have a hard time telling the difference between jokes and signals. Either way, there's nothing for me to pursue. My comebacks are weak because I don't intend to escalate anything in the wrong way, and I end up making myself look lame and failing a shit test.
Example comments: "Today is Int. Woman's Day, where are my flowers? Oh, no flowers?" "Her jewelry is nice; when/are you going to give me jewelry?"
Progressively through our time dancing together, she's become more flirty and I'm having a hard time drawing the line between playing along and wondering what's actually going on.
Overall it feels like I'm looking too much into this, overthinking things as I usually do.
