My take is this.

Feminists tried entryism via rape hysteria and tried to take the leader out with false accusations.

The group refused to be divided in the way feminists usually divide groups.

As for people thinking feminism is the left - they don't know the difference between the actual left and neoliberal appropriations of feminism.

See how feminist destroyed the civil rights and occupy movements?

See how feminism is supported by corporations and capitalist government?

Feminism isn't really the left.

i know its breitbart but i checked with the daughter of a friend at the uni and the story is accurate.

I consider myself to lean to the left. I try to be centrist, but on a large number of policies, I lean leftward. What hurts is the characterization of all people on the left (or the right) and infighting between them as a struggle between the People’s Front of Judea and the Judean People’s Front. (Great Monty Python reference that, the Life of Brian is one of the best films ever)

There are many variations of being "on the left" as well as many variations of being "on the right". One of the reasons why I stopped watching MSNBC altogether was because of how the anchors on that network squealed with girlish glee every time there was a divide on the right. The left has disagreements too, sometimes, politics makes strange bed-fellows (I never thought I'd ever consider Breitbart's reporting credible, until gamergate happened).
