I ask for some advice on the Tinder subreddit, but thought I'd ask here instead for maybe a more insightful opinion. My original post is as follows:

I joined a bunch of dating apps (Tinder, Coffee Meets Bagel, and Bumble) last Thursday, and have gotten a few matches so far. I have 20 on Tinder. The problem is that I don't have the confidence to message any of them. I have pretty low self-esteem and social anxiety, much of which are derived from almost never talking to girls. I feel like if I talk to them, then I will bother them. I also have a bad image of myself--I'm convinced that girls only want muscular and outgoing guys, and that they only accidentally swiped right. Also, on one of the others apps, a girl voluntarily gave me her number because she said that she'll be without wi-fi while on spring break this week, and the chat was going to expire in the next few days. Do you have any advice for me? Should I try initiating conversation? I kind of joined these apps in the hopes of working on my social skills with girls.

One of the responses kind of struck a nerve with me (it has since been deleted), but it pretty much affirmed all of my concerns, especially the fact that girls only want guys who are muscular and outgoing, and that not being either of those wipes me out of the dating pool. He strongly suggested that I delete my account, which I did. Would you say that this is generally true? Should I workout for a year or two before even thinking about relationships?
