Thankfully, I get my period very regularly. The two days before my period I can get a little out of control if I don't contain myself. My husband keeps track (and I warn him) so we're both very gentle on those two days. I also practice a LOT of self-control. My rule is generally if it bothers me in an hour, I can say something about it. I hardly even remember what happened that made me upset after an hour. I don't ask for alone time, he'd see that as rejecting him. I just constantly remind myself that what I'm feeling is only hormonal.

I mostly get cuddly but in a quiet kind of tired way. My SO was always really good about just letting me put my head on his chest and listen to his heartbeat.

So meditation I guess? That's what I'd call it.

Mine's a little irregular, so I can only kind of guess when it's coming. I'm usually a ball of emotions, though. C uses his typical tactics for calming me down if I'm getting fussy (primarily poking fun at how fussy I am) and checks on me to make sure I'm feeling okay.

Sex is also a great way of fixing the PMS attitude, at least in my experience. Relieves any kind of cramping and bad attitude I may have at the time.

I tend to write in a diary. Mainly so I take my frustrations out in my writing and not on my husband.

When I get really bad and need some space I usually tell hubby I am going to the grocery store. I usually causally stroll the store looking for new ingredients to use in cooking. Then I go home and cook which usually gives me plenty of space since hubby knows the kitchen is my domain. And I usually whip up some form of comfort food that is bad but oh so tasty. (Usually pasta/bread/potato based meal of some form since I really try not to eat it any other time)

Or if I really angry I go to a boxing class. Keeps me healthy and gets the anger out

I just inform my husband that I'm grumpy and try to stay out of his way and do my own thing. If he wants to hang out we just keep it a low stress activity, but usually he's got other stuff he can work on.

PMS or not, I try to think before I speak. I'm really type A to begin with so petty things annoy me a lot of the time. I just recognise that these are my problems and not anyone else's. they are also (usually) irrational and i will internally talk myself down. I'll sometimes vocalise that I'm grumpy, like "I'm feeling really ____ this afternoon, I hope I'm not being too unbearable." If it gets really bad I'll start a project to refocus/regroup and that usually helps. This doesn't just apply to my SO, everyone deserves to be treated in a calm, respectful manner.
