I'm 25 and I went from a fairly overweight guy who didn't care about himself or his appearance to a guy who's more fit, starting a great career with a great job that pays very well, done some traveling, goes to concerts all the time, get's out more, works out every other day, eats healthier, moved out of his parents house halfway across the country to a major american city after graduating from college, and a great musician.

And yet women still scare me. I know they shouldn't, but they do. I might look better, but I'm still just an average looking guy. My body has a long way to go as well as my wardrobe. When I go out I still feel anxiety. It's hard for me to approach new people and groups of people. Everyone said that if you just work on yourself it gets easier and confidence comes from it. I just feel like me. I'm still the same guy who doesn't do well with women and doesn't get laid. Who hasn't had sex in a long time. Who hasn't been in a relationship in a long time.

I'm happy with my life overall. I try not to derive any personal value from what women think, but I'm starting to think that I'm still lacking confidence because I fail in this part of life. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong and how to improve. I'm doing everything for me and have been for a long time. I want to be young and experience dating and fun. How do I transition to what I've built up for myself to getting this to happen? What's the next step? Why do I still not feel this super hero power that everyone refers to as confidence?
