If you want to be different, choose it and act accordingly. You can test it and see if it is truly what you want.

I used to have SUPER boring conversations with girls and even dudes that I'd never met before because I was playing it too safe.

Here's what I did: - made a list of all the opinions I had - rank them by most polarizing - start talking about the most polarizing ones to people you meet

Yes, some will hate it and give you looks of disgust and walk away and all that shit but some will actually want to talk to you MORE. And this is what you truly want; the people who are willing to engage and willing to entertain your strong, controversial, opinions.

This strategy IS dependent on you having a strong personality (even if you're hiding it) and/or a strong philosophy that you are adhering to.

You can definitely do stuff to change it : improv classes, comedy classes, simply going out and interacting with a ton of people.

However don't consider it to be the plague either. This one friend of mine is very very chilled, boring dare I say, but he doesn't care. People think he's super chilled, grounded, no bullshit-type guy(you have to bullshit a little to be funny). Being comfortable in yourself is super important making good deep connections with people.

Regardless of whether you were born with it, you can fix it.

Study comedians, not the schlocky ones who work a gimmick or are "always on" but the very funny ones who seem to be having a natural conversation with their audience.

TL;DR There are two aspects of being interesting: internal and external. Internal interest is based on distancing yourself from the normal lifestyle of media consumption and focusing on productive hobbies and enriching experiences. External interest is based on being humorous and charismatic so that you more easily connect with others and present yourself in the beat light.

All babies are boring. So yes, you're born without. Some people grow out of it.
