I remember your previous post. Serious question - What benefit is there for men to attend speed dating events? How is better than going to bars, public events, or even online dating?

As I see it, if you have even numbers of women and men, the women can "sample" every guy and figure out who the best one or two is and then try to get with him. Now, this is normal, and to be expected, but why should any guy show up? Especially if they are automatically competing with you - clearly a high status guy, just by virtue of organizing the event. Not only that, but in a nightclub, bar, social event, concert, etc, a guy is competing not against 15 specific other people, but against an abstract concept of "there could be hotter guys out there." This works to his advantage. This is also why women will go home at "last call" with men they wouldn't otherwise consider, just by virtue of them being the best option.

Now, to your specific case. Guy obviously stood no chance, and yes he was owned, but you lost a client, and probably a few more from guys who were on the fence. From a business standpoint, this doesn't make much sense.

We know that nightclubs cater to women (shitty pop music about living in the moment, no cover charge, discounted drinks, loads of attention) and so that men follow them and spend a lot of money on cover charges, drinks, "VIP" areas, etc.

Seems to me that your business is kind of the reverse. Single women have a reason to show up, because they have very good information on each specific man there, and men are guaranteed to approach them. Would it not make sense to make these venues more attractive to men? Maybe lower cost, free drinks, or even guaranteed favorable female/male ratios?

Anyway, good job on the blonde, and thanks for the FR. Would love to hear your response to speed dating vs other venues for men.

Doesn't speed dating immediately lower your SMV? Guys would only ever do it if they couldn't get a date otherwise.

I think that guy had a decent strategy, it just backfired because of who he picked to hit on.

If he had a higher SMV than you and he said that to a non plate, it could have easily worked. The next line would of course be "Yeah, this is nonsense. Let's go grab a drink".

He doesn't have to sit through the speed dating part and he has a date.
