I think what you did was merited, and I would have done the same. You must never tolerate disrespect from males or females.

Never lay your hands on another person unless physically provoked. Verbal disrespect and insults can be handled easily with frame and amused mastery, but as soon as another person disrespects you physically they forfeit their right to civility, you MUST retaliate regarless of gender.

Also, the ridiculous myth that states "there is never a reason to hit a woman" is pure, fresh, steaming dog shit on your living room floor. It is illogical. Never subscribe to that horse shit.

It's true that you expose yourself to potential assault charges, and a court won't care if she hit you first, so just keep that in mind. But if you know there won't be legal consequences, like in your story, it's the best thing you can do, because there's really nothing you can do about an unruly woman. That's why they keep doing this kind of shit, they know they will be no consequences. Slapping a ho is probably the only thing that may make them think twice about it.

The potential legal consequences outweigh any possible benefit of hitting a woman. Unless you or your family are in imminent danger of death or permanent injury, no amount of pride or property is worth the risk of jail and having a violent criminal record fucking up your future.

I disagree. legal consequences definitely outweigh the benefits of hitting a woman, but only if not physically provoked. Don't go knocking a woman out with a punch mike tyson would be proud of because she slapped you, its overkill, retaliate accordingly, don't injure her. The legal system is only as biased as the rules it is bound by allow, and if someone initiates physical violence towards another, they forfeit the rights that protect them from physical violence.

The courts will not care who hit who first, the courts will care who the aggressor is, who escalated the situation, if you warned her, if you took steps to avoid confrontation, if a weapon was involved and the damage and injuries involved. It is your right to defend yourself, women are no exception. As long as you take the necessary precautions, maintain calm frame and avoid escalating, nobody can charge you for defending yourself.

I've hit a few woman and will again if I am physically provoked again. I always take the necessary steps to ensure that I did what I could to dissolve the dispute, stay calm, maintain frame, amused mastery, turn my back, ignore, avoid escalating, walk away. What's also very important watch for signs that she seeks to initiate physical contact, if so warn her not to ever touch you but make no threats, make sure she knows you mean business, then ignore her immediately.

Remaining calm and maintaining frame clearly portrays her as the aggressor, and works in your favor with witnesses and possible video evidence. I always win a the crowd in this way. Unfortunately walking away, turning away and ignoring is sometimes perceived as weakness and as such a free invitation for the aggressor to display dominance over the male physically.

I once slapped a girl so hard her cousin told me the following day that her lipstick was somehow smeared on the back of her neck. I still wonder how that happened. She tried cracking a glass over my skull when I turned my back but I dodged and she got my shoulder, I spun around and slapped her soul back to the promised land.

After the shock subsided she started bawling trying to play the victim card, when she threatened to press charges I told her I'd give her a lift to the police station and we can both bond over pressing charges together. Even the guy she came with told her she was asking for it, she knew she didn't have a case.

I heavily disagree with the notion that one must allow physical disrespect from another person to "slide" just because they are female. It is illogical, it is rewarding female entitlement, it is enabling female entitlement, it is a form of censorship and technically it is sexist. Take the necessary precautions and do not escalate the situation, but never allow anyone to use brute force to disrespect you regardless of their gender.

What you should have done is point out to the lady that she clearly believes that men and women aren't equal and also tell her how stupid it is for the concept that a woman never deserves to be hit. That is one of our stupid social programmings that people need to delete. If a woman needs to be hit she should be hit.

The problem with that is that due to how much everyone else has been programmed you will be the target of violence and "justice" if you do.

You reacted to her in an instinctual way so for you to think of how you should have handled it is kind of pointless. You can try to plan out for future ways to handle things but it doesn't seem like you were in control of yourself for this anyways.

Replace the word woman with anyone; you don't hit anyone for no reason. She elected to, but the situation was easily resolvable without retorting.

If anyone comes at you fists blazing, in my opinion it's perfectly acceptable to do whatever you need to do to restrain them or defend yourself. Woman or man. I've had both sexes hit me before (used to be a bouncer). There were ways to react and very rarely have I ever needed to throw a punch back.

I don't know what I would do but I'm big and a former boxer so if I slapped a woman she'd likely go down. I probably would've told her to "get the fuck out of my face." If anything she'll now think twice about being a cunt to others.

As for hitting a woman....no one should hit anyone, obviously. But slapping a woman for hitting you isn't the worst thing in the world. A slap is by definition a strike not intended to harm someone, but to cause temporary physical pain. It should really only be reserved for the most heinous of behaviors and in response to something physical itself. I wouldn't feel to bad about this.

Why do people think it is ever OK to hit a woman? We have 4 times their strength. Twice their body weight. We are rational, logical, in charge. They are emotional. You don't have to hit a woman. You can grab her arms and immobilize her easily. I have no idea what "slapped the shit out of my $1,000 lens" even means. She bumped into you? She grabbed your camera and shook it? No idea what could justify slapping her for this.

I like Chris Rock- never hit a woman but you can shake the shit out of her.

I think the only problem is : you hit first/ wasn't physically threatened. You essentially lost frame, because you. Reacted out of anger physically. You got what you wanted but not in. The best way possible. A nice assertive GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE, would have gotten you better results.

I will not even wait until I am hurt or seriously injured by some cunt before I eliminate the threat. And yes, women (even a small one) can do serious bodily harm to a man.
