Thats a bleak way to look at it, you should trust them to do what is in their nature to do. Just have a different set of expectations for them.

I would say it hasn't ruined trust, but rather has exposed how misplaced expectations incongruent with reality can impact your self-esteem and emotional state.

Trust is earned, it's not something you just agree on. TRP is here to show us what the rules and how things really work, bite the pill, improve yourself, move on. If you start thinking "I won't trust a woman ever again" then you just threw up the RP. You can trust woman to always listen to her instinct and react based on emotions and not reason.

To clarify: I only really trust people to act towards what they believe is in their best interests. I've never trusted women any more than I've trusted any other human being.

This sub just made me put what I already knew into words. I had given up on love a long time ago. I just got out of another relationship where I mostly let a girl run my life. I was stuck halfway between BP and RP, but in the end I let the BP win. I found this and now I see why I have facts to my idea that love doesn't exist. I don't even think I'll try any LTR again.
