This is a convoluted topic that gets more complicated by the hour, but I will do my best to provide context without being superfluous.

I have three elder sisters who range from 10-14 years older than me. They have only met my fiancé a few times very briefly. I have been with him for 1.5+ years. My parents know him rather well, really like him and know he is a wonderful person. In fact, my fiancé and my dad have bonded strongly over gun training and have done that together.

There are many instances of brief meetings between my siblings and my fiancé that have culminated in a ridiculous pile of accusations that are completely unfounded. A couple days after Christmas I was brought to a coffee shop by two of my sisters and legitimately interrogated for three hours about our relationship. Then just yesterday I had to go to my mother's house and speak to her about my fiancé because all three of my siblings were spewing ridiculous speculations into her head and she believed them. I had to go debunk every single issue until she realized they were being ridiculous. My dad made fun of her because he knows my sisters are being absolutely absurd.

Some of the accusations were:

"He stared me down." (So... he made eye contact with you. okay.?) "He didn't ask me enough questions." (We were at a large social gathering, not much opportunity for a one on one interview.) "I don't think he knows much about his job." (When the sibling in question was being VERY aggressive with him and speaking in such a manner that implied he knew nothing about his work.) "He's emotionally abusive and manipulative." (Because he once had a manipulative stepmother. What she does not know is that he hated her guts, knew exactly what she was doing and wanted absolutely nothing to do with her.) "He was listening in on our Skype conversation." (No. I happened to be at his house. He had a friend over. They went into the other room.) "His father gave me bad vibes." (This man would give you the shirt off his back.)

One of them said on Christmas: "Oh, (fiancé's name) you're invited too, if you're still together."

All of them are grasping at straws. They claim they want to get to know him, yet they say all these absurd things behind his back and behind my back. I've told my fiancé about all the things they've said. So of course he wouldn't be proactive in conversation with them. What incentive does he have to start conversation with someone he knows does not like him? You are naturally going to avoid someone that does not like you, that only makes sense.

My fiancé has done absolutely nothing to warrant this talk about him. In fact, I feel he has gone above and beyond to try to make things right and they just double down on being unfair. One of my siblings made up a bunch of crap once that my fiancé was avoiding her and staring her down. He wrote her an email explaining everything that happened and he apologized if he came off rude; he genuinely did not know she felt that way. He then invited her to my surprise party later in the week to patch things up. Then she goes on to claim he is manipulative and doesn't like his dad for no reason. Seriously?

I am having a tough time knowing how to proceed in this situation. What my siblings do not understand is that my fiancé does not take being disrespected from anyone. He is not afraid to say anything to anyone and put them in their place. I have seen this myself, and I actually find his truth-spitting one of his more attractive traits. He has told me he is done being nice to them. If they pull something again, he will make a retort without thinking twice. But he has also said, he may just remove himself from any situation involving them completely just to protect me from any more grief in regard to them.

The thing is, he's actually very angry about this. Multiple times he has had to console me from crying about things my siblings have said about him. That is why he is not interested in playing nice anymore. He sees the situation as them attempting to sabotage our relationship, and that they are playing with my feelings. I have to agree. I mean, when my mom told me "we need to talk" I couldn't sleep because I was crying. I cried again in the morning, and then I cried more on the way to her house. I genuinely thought my sisters had turned one of my only familial allies against me.

I understand my siblings are only making their concerns under the guise of being protective. But they do not know anything about him, and thus they are not in a position to procure advice or judgments about him. As my father said "What do you do if you don't know anything? You keep your mouth shut!"

I could understand their concerns if there was something legitimately wrong with him. But he has treated me nothing but wonderful. I look up to him. He is an entrepreneur, and I have started my own business too. He has helped me so much with my business, put in so many hours that I would not be anywhere near where I am now without his selfless help. He surprises me with things, makes me feel taken care of, so many things. I feel like the best version of myself when I am with him. He is so intelligent and teaches me something new every day, and I in turn share the things I learn. I could go on forever, but that is not pertinent to the topic.

I just wish my siblings could understand this and that they could have given him a fair chance. It is not my fault they showed zero interest in him until we got engaged. I know that sticky situations are ahead. As previously stated, my fiancé is done being nice or trying to have a positive relationship with them. So I am unsure how to navigate the murky waters ahead.

I apologize for the length of this post, and I thank you so very much if you have read through the whole thing!
