More or less. It was everywhere in the 1970s when I was a teen, and I was on the fringes, but not hardcore. My husband was though. I never had a Mohawk!

I was more the girl who was always wearing vintage dresses and heels from the '40s & '50s that hung out in bars everywhere with her fake ID that no one ever checked. Oh, and hats and gloves; dang, I was the dork in the pillbox hat and little white gloves, lol.

Look at this Redditor survey from August 2013.

  • 84% are under 30
  • 53% are liberal or a little liberal
  • 65% atheist/agnostic
  • 53% are employed part time or less.

A big chunk of Redditors is not ready to think rationally or take relationships seriously. And anything that does not seem to be a moderate idea is not taken seriously. That's just Reddit.
