TLDR: I was married for 2 years, divorced 7 months ago. Had a wedding in Vegas (my choice, planned, both families present), honeymoon in Hawaii, traded rings, and she legally took my last name. No shared assets. Stood firm for no marriage license. Not only for divorce rape concerns, but also my philosophic position.

Government should enforce contracts, not hand out marriage licenses to those it approves of. Family is the smallest polity. Husband/father is commander in chief. I think it's absurd that a man would need government permission to marry a woman.

Also, discovered my ex wife was an ASPD psychopathic hooker of 15 years, and has been rampantly cheating for 20+ on "every boyfriend I've ever had".

  Hello again TRP  After my marriage post yesterday, I thought today would be a good day to share my wedding vows from my private marriage.  Here they are, on video in Las Vegas, both families present. February 2nd 2014. I vow to take joy in witnessing your existence every day, as much as I do my own. I vow to earn your love, respect, and admiration each day – and to never deal in the unearned and undeserved. I vow to live congruent to my deepest convictions; to always maintain my integrity, to never compromise on or sacrifice a higher value for a lower. I vow to protect you, my self, and any family we may come to create together. I vow to love, respect, and admire you until death, or life, do us part. I vow to celebrate who I am and who you are – the entirety of our shared sense of life, and the totality of each person as an end in themselves. I vow to never betray my self, you, or my mind. I vow to always maintain my independence, and to always fully respect and encourage your own. I vow to mindfully be who I am, now and always. I vow to always love myself, and live the highest vision of my own life.

  They were the best I could do at the time. Some people were really taken back at the things I said. Others not surprised at all.  I think I could do better in the future, but that assumes I would do this again, which I may not. Obviously the cultural and political environment is extremely hostile to men and masculinity.  I wasn't close with her family (they all lived very far, Alaska, California, etc), so they were most surprised. Didn't put up much of a fuss though. Repressed snowed in northern culture.  My position on vows is that they needed to be primarily about me (and you if you ever do this), not the woman. I was the one taking the vows, and leading the relationship.  Objectivism and the work of Dr. Nathaniel Branden - the guy Ayn Rand cucked her husband Frank for - heavily influenced the vows. Some might call me a sociopath (in a derogatory sense) or narcissist (also in a derogatory sense). I absolutely reject both.  I am an egoist and objectivist. I care about my own life first and foremost. That means rational self-interest at all times.  My two favorite vows  "I vow to love, respect, and admire you until death, or life, do us part." I got this from Dr. Branden in a speech he gave long ago. The instant I heard it, I knew this was the only rational vow one could make in this context. I was clear with my ex-wife: "absolutely zero tolerance" for fuck ups. You ever cheat or hit, I am gone, instantly and forever, no matter what.  I assumed prostitution was a given in that zero tolerance mix. Guess again.  My other favorite vow is the last one:  "I vow to always love myself, and live the highest vision of my own life." I wanted to end the vows on me and me alone. This is probably how every man should end his vows, if you want to marry at all.  The independence bit was my lack of understanding in how co-dependent women are fundamentally and biologically. Especially one this incredibly damaged. With that said, never wanted a zombie wife. The closing bit was me throwing her a softball. As some of you have commented about the business I started at 17 years old, I am ruthlessly self-motivated.  I of course backed out on the cherish forever bit because she entered the wedding on false and fraudulent pretenses. That vow was made on the premise that she was who she presented herself to be (and could one day fuck up, just like I could as a human being with free will). Someone commented before about me entering the marriage with intent to divorce. No, I did not. I was quite fucking serious about the whole thing.  And finally, here is Medusa and I meeting Dr. Nathaniel Branden at his home in LA back in December 2012. http://imgur.com/a/yghZQ  We got to spend about 3.5 hours at his home. I was 24 at the time. It was like philosophy disney land. Towards the end, he turned to his wife and said pointing at me, "Can I adopt this one?"  Hehe. Miss that guy. He died in late 2014. Some pics to start with: http://imgur.com/a/mmE1m  Basic facts  -Married for 2 years -Engaged for 6 months -Together 4.5 years -Total sex ~1,300 times (mutual estimate in Jan 2016 with another married couple present) -Lost in the divorce: an old ceiling fan I liked -Her spending on me vs mine/her 3:1 or greater  As most everyone in this sub is aware, marriage in western civ today is extremely dangerous for men - to put it lightly.  I've been aware of this for a long time, and was fully prepared to never marry a western woman in the first place. However, after years of meeting women, world travel, and 6,000+ approaches, I figured I would give LTRs a shot with the most rational woman I could find.  She was an atheist, self-supportive, took good care of her body, was hot, educated, and a genuine fan of Ayn Rand's novels (which was important to me as an objectivist), etc etc.  Guess how that turned out...  In any event, I stuck to my guns and opted for a private marriage. That is, no marriage license. I didn't realize this was called a private marriage at the time, but came to this plan of action anyway.  What we did do (see pics):  -wedding in Vegas with both families present -took donations, and split the remaining cost about 52/48 (she wanted some shit I wasn't willing to pay for, so I let -her pick up the tab) -- total wedding and honeymoon cost before donations was $12.5k -week long honeymoon in Hawaii (picture of me on a helicopter tour) -traded rings -traded vows, mine saying "... until life or death do us part." hehe -presented as husband and wife socially -she legally changed her last name to mine  What I did not do:  -spend any money on her engagement or wedding rings -- I literally picked from some of her own -get on one knee to propose, I stood tall -promise to love her unconditionally -get a marriage license -let her access any of my money/get a joint account -lose sight of what's important to me, my company I started at 17  With the sex, we started fucking like rabbits from the first day we met. Since finding the PUA scene over 10 years, I've been disgusted with sexless relationships and marriages, so I vowed to never be in one.  The result was having sex of some kind 5-7 days a week, for the entire relationship, with the exception of the final ~4 weeks early this year, where we got down to... 3 days a week.  To this day, I am stunned when I read about guys getting the sex in their relationship up to three days a week. My first thought is always... how did it ever get that low?  I know the answer, but the emotional response is still there. The sex was maintained at this quantity because I never, ever let up. Unless one of us was deathly ill or we were apart, we did something every single day. Few days went by where we didn't have sex of some kind.  Even if I jerked off earlier in the day, I would still take the time to go fuck her later.  And she was a great, fake fuck toy. Throughout the course of the relationship she spent $XX,000 on plastic surgery. The works. Didn't need it, but hey it was fun to enjoy.  By walking away king, I mean that by never getting a marriage license, divorce was as simple as me taking my ring off - done. Few parts of my life were at risk, and I had the jump on her by a few weeks after we split up, and she was still trying to get me back.  During this window of opportunity I took care to change every single one of my passwords, and protect myself in a number of ways, in the event she ever maliciously came after me with anything false and fraudulent. I also moved all of my shit out of the house while she was at her grandfather's funeral (war vet, awesome guy). Meaning there was no one to negotiate or argue with. If I had a receipt for it... it was mine, no questions asked. They of course fail to grasp - aggressively so - that government approval and recognition of your marriage is not required, is the least important element, and is by far the most dangerous element you can add to it as a man.  I made the call, and informed our families and my friends of what we were doing - no permission required. Accept it or fuck off.
