I got the strangest comment from my wife today: "thank you".

When we first met, I had a pretty happy-go-lucky MGTOW thing going. I was playing guitar and partying with my boys. Was a foreman of a small construction crew. She was a great addition to my lifestyle and didn't hold me back. Told her I still wanted to fuck other chicks (cuz I was such a rock-star), and she was right there with me. My friends were rightfully jealous. She was enjoying the jonny_napalm ride. We were only a few months in when I had my van surfing accident, and she still stuck around. So keeper, right?

Slowly but surely, over our 12 years together, I fell into domesticity. All my hobbies gone, save for sex. She has always kept me laid. Any dead bedroom was on my part. Not to take anything away from her, she's 5'3", 110 lbs, and cute as a button.

And her sex slowly became my crutch. Our record is 9 times in a day. At times it would be hard to focus on work cuz' I wanted to go home and fuck my wife. A few times we did coffee break sex. The point being is that her validation was hindering my own self improvement.

Anyway, at some point, I decided to rediscover myself apart of being a husband and a father. Last winter I got season lift passes for snowboarding. Third day out I tore my rotator cuff doing a jump a 39 year old man shouldn't be doing. Maybe that was the day I decided I wasn't going to be weak sauce any more. (Still snowboarded with the kids for the season, though)

Starting to lift hard now, two hours every other day. Shoulder is not 100%, but as log as I am careful, knock on wood. 165 lbs, 215 bench, 355 dead (yeah, still a work in progress). Started playing tennis and I fucking love it. Roller blading, swimming, etc...

Well, this rediscovery of self has had a bit of a negative on my sex life. Can I get sex: yes. Do I feel like it after shredding my body on a session of squats: no. Do I care: ?? God help her if I rediscover my guitar.

I came up behind her today and hugged her with a kiss. She turned around with a smile and I held her close, then...

she: "thank you"

me: "for what?...letting you cook me fish?"

she: "no, for last night" (we had sex the night before)

me: lol
