How do you celebrate mothers day with your wife?

I coordinate the kids making breakfast for her, then take them for the day so she can relax or do whatever the heck she wants to do without the responsibility of kids....after all, she is a stay at home mom and she doesn't get the luxury of not being responsible for the kids very often....I think that is something I take for granted that I can make my own work schedule and grab lunch wherever I want or go play golf in the afternoon etc....she has to make all those decisions with the kids in mind.

I encourage the kids to be in charge, afterall she's their mother not mine. Usually we do breakfast in bed with mimosas and then a family outing. I help them to make cards for her.

The expectations are so bullshit. Mothers day: get her stuff. Valentine's: get her stuff.

Father's day is all but ignored, and Steak and BJ Day was supposed to be our Valentine's Day but it is downright insulting. A steak and a blowjob, is that supposed to be special?!? What sad beta had that idea?

I'd be interested in what you guys do. I've gotten my mother and wife both cards. Got some cookware thing she pointed out for my sons "gift"...she's wanted a new bed and headboard/frame so I think that may be my " gift" to her.

didn't do anything. i rented a car and drove north. wife happened to come with. no different than every single day of our lives. i do things i'm going to enjoy. wife gets to come with if she wants. if she does and has a good time, great for both of us. this is the general mentality i take to most days, doubly so for these bullshit hallmark holidays.

if there are things she needs to do (like travel back to europe to see folks while 7 pregnant), i put in the extra effort to make sure things are taken care of.

the only day i might treat any differently during the year for my wife would be her birthday, and only because it's important to her and she earns it the other 364 days. well, also valentine's day, where she gets slightly less shitty flowers with each passing year. she earns those too. (you ever see what $5 road side flowers look like?). we're up to $20 for next year.
