Tell her that even if nothing is "happening", it's a blatant disrespect toward you and your marriage. Tell her to stop, and that no other course of action is even remotely acceptable. Tell her if it happens again, you will no longer consider yourself married to her and will take action to file divorce immediately.

That's what I'd do, because in my world that is completely not okay. She'd lose her fucking mind if you were texting some fine honey who was telling you all kinds of sweet things. You deserve to be respected.

does she do it instead of attending the needs of the relationship?

the context here is important. Never think of distance as a safeguard. I travel often, many people do. Also, if she was lying, sayiung he's not close would be a logical lie.

Other than that, if you don't want to lose frame, I always go with blunt honesty. I got no problems with this, but realize this puts my alert up... act accordingly. And don't put up with any dismissing of it... don't get mad at it, just calmly listen to whatever, and repeat it again.

not as if you're mad, but theres a way things are going to have to go... if they don't then up your dread game. In the end, just so long as you know you'll win on the 'me or him' then its not a concern, but if you get anything but that impression, it's a very telling sign.

Personal opinion. At the start of a relationship, a woman decides if the man is an alpha or a beta. So the simplest example is a bargirl. The client that comes into the bar if he buys her drinks etc is a beta. The precident for the relationship has been set, and it is almost impossible to change. This is why the friendzone never works out. The cases where rhe friendzone supposedly turned into a relationship, the guy was not an orbiter in the first place or the woman is settling. Here is the thing, most bargirls often have BFs, and many times they are not the best looking guys. And a lot of times the bargirl is supporting his sorry ass. So if OP has set everything straight, he has nothing to worry about unless he really screws up.

OP already has the issue under control where if she is texting while they are doing something else he tells her to put the phone away.

Why is she texting ? It might be many reasons. Women like gossip, maybe she likes having an orbiter, maybe she wants to make OP jealous. Probably the beta thinks that OP os an asshole, and if he is nice to his wife he can win her away. From the bargirl example, it isn't going to work.

As for the beta not respecting OP's marriage and nonsense like that. That sort of thinking falls into white knight mentality. Since when does the opinion of a beta matter ?

Do not confuse necessity with virtue. It's quite disrespectful to you. It needs to be handled, and I'm not sure how I'd go about it.
