While browsing the web I have come across this video [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQeskK4i7E8] of Zlatan Ibrahimović. For those of you who don't know him, he is a star soccer player well known for his skills as well as his attitude.

There is no need to explain how important holding frame is as it has been repeated many times here. This is one of the most important concepts of the TRP and should be applied in any situation regardless of woman presence. While lurking around I have seen many people asking for a better definition of frame and examples of holding frame.

This video is only 13 seconds long but it captures the very essence of holding frame. The player in red tries to push Zlatan away in an attempt to gain an advantage if the ball was coming their way, and also get a reaction from Zlatan. If you have watched soccer, these encounters happen all the time and usually both players get involved pushing each other. Look closely at Zlatan's reaction, he goes from amused to straight face as soon as he feels his personal space is invaded. You can obviously see the discomfort in the other player's behavior when he meets such a reaction. He clearly communicates "this is my personal space and you won't have it" with just a look. The player in red back out immediately and here is where it becomes interesting. He proceeds to challenge Zlatan's frame once again, but this time with a much weaker approach ( notice the second touch). Zlatan continues to hold his frame, and deny the challenge with what seems to me as a form of "Amused Mastery".

These players are trained to get involved in such situations, the defender (in red) has been in numerous "fights" like this in his career and knows exactly what kind of behavior he should expect from his opponent. However, Zlatan's approach was not a regular one, he simply handled the situation by holding frame, claiming his personal space and not backing down. The defender earns his living from this and a goal could mean damage to his career, income, and quality of life overall, however he admits defeat so "easily".

Think about how this applies to women, she will challenge your frame, and she has been "trained" all her life to expect you to break down and give her the "advantage". If you hold your frame, she won't know how to react. She will try to break your frame again, just to make sure you are the shit (aka. shit test). Eventually she will fall into your frame.

There are two important lessons that we can learn and apply from this:

  1. Always hold frame, no matter where and when.

  2. If you held frame once that does not mean it won't be challenged again.

Hold your frame.
