(tl;dr - Tell me how you stay focused and avoid distractions when you're working on yourself)

Hello everyone! I hope you're all enjoying the onset of Autumn (or Spring, for those of you in the Southern hemisphere) as much as I am!

We all know that a huge part of RPW is self development (becoming a better person and, therefore, a better first mate). I've always been aware that improving myself was a good idea, but it was only when I became a mother that I learned its true importance; that I don't want to pass on my character flaws to my daughter, and that I must become the kind of woman that I want her to be when she grows up.

This urgent desire to be the perfect role model has led me here, among many other places, and I have a much better understanding of how my ideal self should be. However, I find myself struggling to put in effort consistently. I go days or weeks at a time where I'm following all my routines and seeing progress, and then, just when I'm staring to feel secure in my new habits, WHAM! Life happens, and I watch with resigned exasperation as all the things I was juggling crash to the floor. I know, of course, that I should pick them back up, learn from my mistakes, and do better next time. Instead, I sulk, make excuses, and retreat to comfortable old habits like tv/pulp novels/chocolate mug cakes, etc. until I manage to scrape together enough motivation to try again. I'm getting better at self-correcting, but, like everything else, it's a process.

So, women of r/redpillwives, tell me how you keep focused on your self improvement goals. Share how you cultivate a resilient mindset that bounces back from failure. What are your tips and tricks for life-proofing your routines?
