Anyone have any good 4th of July Picnic tips? I was thinking of packing up some potato salad, baked beans, and grilled corn on the cob into a hamper basket and having a little picnic with dear Boyfriend.

This weekend, I plan on eating with my family tonight, and avoiding all fireworks crowds tomorrow! This will be difficult because there are three professional fireworks displays within two miles of my house, LOL! We will sit up on top of our hill and watch them all like we do every year :)

I'm just going to comment again because why not.

This year is going to be my first real fourth of july with Americans an everything. L and I are going to a BBQ and then to see fireworks. I'm super excited! I'm going to make key lime pie and decorate it with blue berries and whatever red berries look good at the store tomorrow and my friend and I have already decided to get our faces painted at the big event before the fireworks, lol. We're going to sparkle!

Though I'm not sure about my outfit yet. I have stars and stripes flip flops, a dress, shades and a big uncle sam hat and I kinda want to wear that but I'd probably be the only one. But then if I just wear something red, white and blue I'm afraid I'll look french or something. And I'm way too excited to wear regular clothes, lol.

Advice, please?

Also: anyone have a nice and easy way to do your own nails for tomorrow?

So, 4th of July is probably one of the most important days in our home. We're very patriotic, to put it simply.

We're starting our festivities today by grilling some stuffed burgers he prepared last night (grilling and all grilling-related activities are one of his many talents) and having a few drinks at home. Then, we're going to go to a bowling event in the evening. Tomorrow, we will likely ride bikes from bar to bar and then go to a baseball game in the evening, with fireworks afterwards.

This song gets me so pumped for Independence Day!
