What is the obsession with this term and why does it keep coming up? I really don't try to be condescending, but apparently, I often come off this way to strangers. Has anyone unpacked this in TRP terms? It's usually hard to tell how much someone already knows about a technical subject, so is doing small summaries of what you're talking about in a conversation somehow rude? And should I care?
