Finally. I have never heard dick, asshole, prick, jerk, etc. applied to women, and yet I have also never heard a soul (outside TRP) point out that they are therefore sexist. If bitch, slut, etc. are sexist, so are these.

Someone who actually wasn't sexist wouldn't approve of one set of insults and not the others. So to call bitch, etc. sexist and stay mum about jerk, etc. is actuallly itself sexist.

Tho, I agree w/ the commenter who said he tripped their BS filter when he said he never saw a boy being 'bossy'. Boys compete for pecking order constantly. Unfortunately Scott Adams saying this will fall into the feminist trap of 'see, you don't call it bossy when boys do it, that's our whole point'

What I haven't seen is someone come up with a male-oriented word that has a similar connotation. I couldn't, either, but one just occurred to me. If a boy tries to exert an inappropriate level of control over someone else, what you would call him is a "bully". "Bully" has physical connotations that "bossy" doesn't, but maybe that's why bully is male-centric and bossy is female-centric -- boys use physical methods to enforce their will on others, where girls use verbal ones.

This kind of puts this whole thing in a new light, doesn't it? Sure, getting called "bossy" might be bad. But in today's society, bullying is viewed as being nearly criminal.

When girls do it, women/feminists rally around them to support them and pedestalize them as leaders. When boys do it they are demonized, arrested, put through the legal system, and hung out to dry by everyone in the community.

It's interesting to me that Adams has no problem referencing male genitalia as an insult: "dick" in its full form, but "cunt" is somewhy off limits and is only the "c-word"--I understand a person wanting to keep their language clean, but even in referencing, one is apparently acceptable and the other is not...

Dilbert came about because the author got passed over for promotion for a woman(black iirc) and if that wasn't enough, it happened again.

A few years ago there was a huge furore in the manosphere and the feminist sites when he posted something about pegs and holes. After making up for his lost career by becoming a cartoonist, he ended up marrying a single mother and he was raked over coals in the manosphere for his advice for men: be like me and hope that everything turns out for the best.
