These were women 35 to 45. I think you folks call that "post-wall" territory. I think it's a last ditch effort to get an egg fertilized with another guy's sperm, the vestiges of the ancient need to spread one's seed around generously.

I'm a woman, and I remember being incredibly interested in having sex and lots of it from age 35 to 40. I think it was my body telling me I need to get my last healthy eggs fertilized quickly.

This seems inaccurate because last I understood is that women were committing adultery more often then Men.

[–]mkopec-2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

False, men still cheat more than women.

[–]dsade1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Med admit to more cheating...who knows what the truth is?

[–]IamAwaken 1 points1 points1 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

The truth is that men and women both want to cheat without getting caught. If they can do that there is no harm for their "innocent" fun. It was over 66% for both sexes. Just depends on how that opportunity is presented.

A few men cheat more than many women.

Most men don't.

So what can a man do to prevent this

[–]tallwheel6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

To be very general, the article says that the reason they cheat is because they're looking for passion and sex, so obviously the only way to prevent it is for her to have passion for you and want to have sex with you. I'll leave the explanations of how to possibly achieve that to experts linked in the sidebar like Rollo.

[–]Manmore8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This. Don't have a boring, dead relationship.

[–]insertnames0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I would say don't prevent it. Why bother?

If she's willing to cheat, she will if/when the opportunity presents itself. And we all know the opportunity will present itself sooner or later. If you're lucky she will cheat before you have kids and/or get married, saving you a LOT of trouble.

Just be aware and use it. Don't give a fuck. Be mindful and vigilant enough to know when she does and move the fuck on to better pasture with better cows.

Have fun with it: My partner cheated on me (I'll tell the full story eventually) but I've already moved on. Just forgot to tell her, oops! Will use her as an easy plate until I'm ready to settle with someone better qualified. Going to do my best to drag it out as long as possible so it hits even harder when I finally pull the trigger. Hopefully she's done laying eggs by then so she won't even be able to babytrap the next bp mealticket.

She thought nothing of shitting on your life. Equality's a bitch ;)

Because mate guarding and AMOGing are skills you need for plates and for LTR.

LTR, yes. I wouldn't bother much with mate guarding a plate, though. That can come off as so beta. If a plate is gonna hang out with other guys and possibly fuck them, then there isn't much you can do to stop it. Personally, with a plate, I don't really care as long as she's still fucking me... just so long as I don't get sloppy seconds on the same day or something.

[–]mkopec3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Why bother? Well maybe I have over 15 yrs invested into this marriage, 2 kids I dont want to lose? And 1/2 my shit taken away?

Were not taking about a casual relationship here, bro. Were talking about being married to a 35-45 yr old, some for many years.

I'm not going to answer that directly, but I recommend looking up "Dread Game" in this and related subs, and in the sidebar.

[–]jamieoneal825 points6 points7 points 12 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

I don't think dread game helps to prevent cheating. Sometimes it can encourage it. If you play it too hard she might cheat to set up an exit plan in case you leave her.

The best way to prevent cheating is:

  1. Always be improving yourself. No woman will risk losing a man who they know will be a better man tomorrow than he is today.

  2. Always be on the look out for signs of a budding emotional affair. Follow the two week rule.

  3. Always be preempting and disqualifying potential competition. Ie, if she's been talking about a coworker a lot, insist on meeting him. Not in a suspicious way, just in an enthusiastic way. Once you meet him get to know him well and make sure he knows you're not the kind of guy who puts up with bullshit or is easy to pass one over on. Let her know how this guy isn't half the man you are.

Yeah, sometimes I think there's too many noobs trying to up their karma by parroting standard mantras.

Maintaining a constant level of soft dread is important to maintaining attraction, but too much and it could make her feel insecure in the relationship. And trying to up the dread game when you think she's at risk of cheating might push her over the edge.
