Where are the good men? Simple: They are with the good women.

[–]batman50 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

May I steal that? ;-)

[–]NakedAndBehindYou 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It gets even worse when you realize that one of the reasons a woman considers a man "good" to begin with is because he is taken. In other words, "all the good men are taken" is more accurately worded as "all the taken men are good", because of female biology using pre-selection to determine how attractive a man is.

[–]batman50 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That makes the truth really hard to swallow.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm pretty sure you're going to blow a few minds with that one.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What bothers me about it is how much they feel that they're owed by people.

This article starts out by complaining about the way guys are dressing. First of all, if you know about Australian culture, this really isn't strange. They are laid back people. It doesn't mean they don't care, it's just how they are. And I don't think someone needs to be done up a lot to be an appealing person. You know what? I like women who dress casual. If I see a girl that isn't decked out in club-slut attire, and instead is just wearing normal, comfortable clothes, I assume that she's more friendly and laid back. I can learn to appreciate what they have to offer.

Instead of making the most of the situation and seeing the best in the guys that are in front of her, she is dissatisfied that they aren't delivering what she feels she is owed.

A lot of those guys are probably really cool guys. They probably are happy, friendly, have interests and hobbies, and spend their time doing things which interest and fulfill them rather than fussing about whether or not they've sufficiently preened their hair in the bathroom mirror like some sitcom metrosexual. But she isn't interested in seeing the good in people who have interesting lives.

My bitchy face? “Yeah, you’re attractive, but you just look like a bitch,” were his actual words. I found Allen’s insights interesting considering he was a good half a foot shorter than me and didn’t have a single wisp of hair on his Mr Sheened head.

That man is a champion.

Also for a woman that seems to struggle in the dating world she writes an awful lot of dating advice articles.

I was going to use this same quote. Aussies sound awesome. Its like they all got together and decided to flip the script on women.

You're more than mistaken there mate.

Sydney's my hometown, but I've been lucky enough to live overseas for work. Left in 2007, returns in 2010 and leaving again in 6 weeks.

I say this because after experiencing women in Europe and especially in Latin America, I can safely say Sydney women are a joke.

They ARE damn hot don't get me wrong, but they are collectively the most hypergamous women you could ever meet. Even saying hello to a random at the bar whilst you're waiting for your drinks is often met with a sneer. Try the same on a foreigner (plenty of them in Sydney) and they often end up in conversation with you.

And don't get me started about the guys: their version of game is yelling at a woman about how he'd fuck her sideways, or flashing their wallets flaunting their cash. That is if they'd even developed the courage to say something at all.

My hometown is the essence of fake.

I was recently told a story of a friend that went to a speed dating event in he city, he's partly red pilled so he went for shits and giggles. At the end of the night he went and spoke to the hostess, as apparently she was the best sort there. Turns out she was Canadian, and she promptly whispers to my mate: "I feel sorry for you Sydney men!"

Here is one of the many articles, written by a woman no less, about the sad state of Singles dating in Sydney.

Why Sydney women are losing the dating game

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Depends where you go I think. Most of the places I have found like that tend to be for the trendy wanker crowd anyway. Never liked the club scene, I don't dance and you can't even talk inside there.

The quieter niche smaller bars are better as they don't pump the music so loud and the atmosphere is better and things aren't quite so charged. Although you get a few hipsters.

[–]wolololololololo 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not sure if you've heard the term of banter...but when your best mates give you shit/rib you all the time it kinda makes you pretty thick skinned towards what some random woman can say to you.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago* (10 children) | Copy Link

I am an Aussie myself and things don't seem as bad here as half the stories I read.

However even I wouldn't even say to a woman she has a bitch face unless she did something to really piss me off. As even when jesting you don't attack something like that. So she must be a bit of a bitch, she was probably treating the guy like dirt to get that kind of response.

[–]chuckchucker 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Where I live in Aus, a lot of the men are still men. The woman are as bad as they are anywhere. We might be the roids capital of the world. There just seems to be jacked dudes everywhere out in packs, tearing shit up with the dudes and pulling chicks caveman style.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I meant the laws aren't as bad over here. There are plenty of skanks out and about make no mistake however there are still good women here as well just not as many as there used to be.

So many people taking roids these days it's ridiculous. Wouldn't be so bad but the rages they get when drunk while out is annoying. Seems like it wouldn't be a Saturday night without a few people going mental.

[–]SeekingAlpha -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

It's a crime not to vote...great law, that one.

[–]OmniscientOCE 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The fine is $20 or something like that.

[–]toreno92 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Bullshit, I got slugged $160 for not voting in a state election..

[–]SeekingAlpha 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And? What happens if you refuse?

[–]toreno92 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They suspend your driver's license/the taxman garnishes your salary

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I like it actually.

Sure you get a lot of idiots that vote but at least it means the population has to pay attention to whats going on even if its once every 3 years. It also stops them disenfranchising people to vote or making it hard for people.

[–]SeekingAlpha -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Good for you. Some slaves love their masters too. Good for them.

None of that changes the fact that, in Australia, citizens are required to vote by threat of force. Hamster all you like...it's still a ridiculous affront to your liberty.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Threat of force?

Or you could just not register like the people who don't want to vote do. Once you register then you vote or pay a $100 fine. Not exactly terrible stuff and it stops businesses from pulling nasty things like not giving employees a chance to vote and other things. Or when people are disillusioned and don't know who to vote for they can just draw a dick on the ballot.

You take that stuff way too seriously if you think about it having a government is an affront to your liberty, same with taxes and having laws to abide by. Sometimes you put up with it because it has far more positives in your life than your "liberty" is worth.

But anyway keep being an ultra paranoid libertarian who is an outrage machine.

Anita, a 32 year-old South African native, enthusiastically expressed her impression of Australian men. “I can’t believe how lazy and apathetic they are, they seem to lack interest when it comes to approaching a woman and prefer to sit back and let us do all the work.”

Here's a novel idea. If you want to get something in life, work for it. This is how men operate. They don't want to be in an LTR with you, so they aren't working for it. You want to be in an LTR with them, so you better fucking believe that you're going to have to work for it.

Karen, a 36-year-old lawyer, had similar sentiments. “I keep meeting unavailable men. In the beginning they say they’re looking for a relationship, then three or four dates in they change their minds. It’s frustrating!”

Oh my god. Yes. Her career. Oh my god YES. She's so educated. She has a career that pays six figures. She has so much ambition--Oh my god I'm going to cum. /s

In all seriousness though, what these women don't get is that they can't have it all. You want to be a career woman and start dating after you've hit the wall? Be my guest, but don't expect anything good out of it.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Here's the thing - I love career women. They are interesting, they're smart, I can learn a lot from them, and they are easy to talk to about intellectual topics.

But they tend not to have any warmth, especially when they're older. I don't know why. And I have nothing against them. But no warmth at all.

For example: if we can take two types of girls. You are playing video games on a saturday morning. One type of girl asks what you're playing, and then joins in with you. The other type of girl remarks that you're a child and starts scolding you about the dish in the sink

These serious type career women, I just FEEL from them that they're going to be the second type of girl, every time.

And honestly, this is one of the challenges: It's so much easier to get older women. SO much easier. Especially if they're over 38. But they just don't have a sense of humor about life the way young women do. They just don't want to relax and enjoy the little things, the way a girl in her 20's does.

[–]TRP VanguardCyralea 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because to succeed in the business world you need to have a cold hard outlook, and ruthless stoicism. I work with lawyers. The kinder ones almost never make it very far.

A highly aggressive businesswoman can have all sorts of impressive accolades, but she makes for a shit partner. I wouldn't date someone with masculine qualities.

[–]redpillacct 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Every woman referenced in that article has hit the wall...

[–]wolololololololo 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Haha, Sydney is so full of picky people. Of both genders to be fair that I've noticed. I think it has to be the most miserable Australian city.

[–]Flutterbree 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

so this.

[–]Lipophobicity 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I would have a beer with Allen

I love how she called all the men "charmless" based on 1-2 interactions, yet the women (who she presumably didn't mingle with) were deemed worthy

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It was implied that they were worthy because they were overdressed. She hinted at this earlier in the article

[–]RebootedMale 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you are a woman over 30 your options are drying up REAL fast. It's going to get worse. If you want a man, settle for any man that will take you. If you want a man and to get knocked up, cross your fucking fingers.

[–]FlashedBlaze6 points 12 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

I might sound like a dumbass but I didn't understand anything in that article. I don't even get the main point.

[–]SgtBrutalisk 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The truth is simple: women don't know how to commit to anything. Take a moment to think about this. Whatever you want to achieve, it requires commitment: becoming a doctor? Commitment. Building muscle mass and looking like this? Commitment. Finding a good partner? Commitment in bettering yourself, on a daily basis. If you're a man, I didn't even have to say it, it's just an axiom of life that you've learned very early on. Nobody gives a fuck if you live or die, except maybe your family. Nothing is handed to you for free, everything you get is with blood, sweat and tears. Lack of commitment means lack of results. No amount of feminist legislation, political correctness or feel-good bullshit will change that.

Now take a look at the article, the very first paragraph says:

an impromptu meeting of the romantic kind

These women honestly expect to just aggregate in one place and (I suppose) by the power of their pussies combined, attract all the perfect men, no effort required. I have to admit that I too believed in a supernatural force that is working to solve my problems ... when I was fucking 9 years old. Then you learn what wishful thinking is, you realize world doesn't work that way and grow up.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I really wonder why people who write this stuff never stop and ask themselves why they found themselves in the company of all these "losers." I mean, what's the common denominator in her terrible dating life.

Women flock to where the most successful and richest men live. That would be Sydney's CBD. Then they complain there is a shortage of 'eligible' men.

Plain old vanilla hypergamy. Average women thinking they deserve the best men.

Or below average if the pic of the author is any guide http://images.smh.com.au/2013/07/22/4590070/MJ-Angel127x127-90x90.jpg

[–]Pink_acetaminophen 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Do these women want a relationship and love or just to be chased by guys like girls half their age? Women say they want a guy to like them for their personality not their looks so in this situation where there's so many attractive women this is the time where they have to actually have a good personality to stand out. This meet up sounds like a great opportunity to show how they stand out but yet they still complain.

Apparently Australia has a "man drought" going on (warning: video autoplay in link): http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/relationships/yes-its-true-australia-is-experiencing-a-man-drought/story-fnet0gly-1226823846037

“The man drought is most evident during the working years — people in their mid 30s to mid 60s — and is a sign of the global workforce flow and the propensity of Australian men to take advantage of overseas work opportunities,” he says.

Looks like post-wall women are going to have it tough in Australia. Hypergamy just got a bit harder.

I also wonder if Australian men are taking advantage of overseas woman opportunities as well. Thailand isn't too far away...

From the comments in the original ariticle:

don't stress about the name calling. You are a cutie.

Looks like there are white knights down under as well.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Mostly because they're all off doing work in the mines for good money. Meanwhile, the ones left here in the eastern side are either corporate or retail chumps - or just serial university degree students. Despite that, Melbourne women are still ultra-picky for the most part.

[–]robesta 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Similar to Sailer's Law of Female Journalism. Instead of wanting to be hotter looking, she wants the men of Sydney to chase her.

If the only person you focus on is yourself why be surprised if that is all you end up with. Seems to me that women are becoming victims of their own success.

This little nugget stood out to me the most.
