Yeah.

The only people who can "learn" game in one week are keyboard jockeys.

Sorry, but if you think "game" is what you've wrote, you don't know jack.

Game takes the average person 6 months-3 years to actually cement the foundations and adapt into one's personality.

Learning game in one week is like expecting to be a seasoned player after your first bootcamp.

This reading list is meant to give the reader a proper foundation in ev psych, which is necessary for fast progress. Without it, a newbie can only learn through blind trial and error, like a computer playing chess. Theory gives a man the tools to make educated guesses, and to look at new situations through a useful frame.

Sure, no one is going to go from 0 to PUA in a week.

But... "How to acquire the intellectual background in evolutionary psychology necessary for a lifetime of practicing and studying seduction" ...just isn't a catchy enough title.

Ev psych is actually really not helpful for "fast progress" when it comes to game.

Ev psych is a complicated scientific discipline. Thinking about it is just going to make things worse for you until you master the actual basics. Knowing theoretical constructs on why people fuck does not actually result in getting fucked.

If it did, every ev psych prof would be picking up like a rockstar.

There is no "fast progress" to game.

The real newbie "fast progress" in a week list would be:

"Go out, approach, and talk to 200 different women this week. "

Followed with a few simple openers for getting over the initial hump.

Followed by a short discussion on active listening.

If a dude can go from 0 to being able to approach and do the basics of active listening, then they've actually got a tons of fundamentals in place.

There is no "fast progress" to game

Just like any other skill you need to put in the time as you are learning to change your behavior. People have differing inclinations and competence in different learning styles.

Some people learn best from a wrote PUA formula and over time start to learn from variants on their approach. Some people learn best from watching a master in action, in person or in video. Some of us can acquire skills much more quickly once we understand something conceptually.

Personally, after a few days of reading The Rational Male my behavior started to change remarkably; three friends that week asked what happened to me and noted a significant positive change. However the effectiveness of my new behavior has been increasing over time.

I should write more about this but I think there are two mindsets to deal with approach anxiety, and overcome the completely natural fear of approaching strange women in non-club environments.

One is to de-pedastalize girls to the point where you're putting yourself on a pedestal relative to them. "Oh man, these girls are so lucky I'm talking to them and injecting some fun into their boring little lives..."

The other way is to believe that you are genuinely offering value, that you respect random women and their time, but you have such a valuable proposition for them that they'd be a fool to not at least hear out your pitch.

I went with #1 for a while but I think #2 is more effective and more conducive to mental health.

Whatever mental frame you adopt though, the first step is always going to be: Try things that slightly extend your comfort zone, even if it's just EC + smile.

The Selfish Gene is a great to read before getting into evopsych. I like that he puts it as his intro book. It can help you understand that you are not only only the product of successful genes, but also of a set of successful cultural elements (mimetic behaviors or memes, before the term began to refer to captioned cat pictures), which lead your lineage forward to you.

It may as well make clearer why some of the rp bloggers are decrying the influence of feminism and why many traditional cultures view it with hostility. A culture that is successful at raising children and grandchildren that in turn find meaning in raising children and grandchildren will prosper over those that do not.

Thumotic sure knows his booksl. I'm a fan of all his reccomendations. To be fair, most people won't be able to parse that much text in a single week without some serious caffeine.
