First things first, your dad absolutely has the right to know. If you keep this from him you're just as guilty as your mom for deceiving him. Hard thing to put on a 14 year old, but it is what it is.

Also, as for your biological father, for all intents and purposes you were kidnapped. Think about that for a moment. Somewhere out there you have an actual biological father you were kept hidden away from who has a right to know you, and you him. Your mother's lie denied you both this relationship, ergo she effectively kidnapped you from him.

If I had it my way your mom would be in jail for this crime alone, not to mention the gargantuan fraud she committed against you and her husband.

There's really not any proof to this in the story, other than your assumption. You're assuming the "dad" is the beta provider and the other guy is alpha - but its honestly just not known. From what I read the whole story focused on the 14 yr old girl herself, and the mother's lie - but it'd didn't give insight into the situation at all.

I mean, it's a strong chance your assumption is correct. But my point is, without ANY proof, it is JUST an assumption.

Topic suggested he initiated the divorce, mother's post-divorce alcoholism suggests she was crushed by it. Father's high-functioning relationship with his daughter suggests he was not crushed.

Maybe not "alpha", but also not "spineless." There's more than just a dichotomy. Obviously he was not just willing to lie down and take her shit.
