Solid op-ed, glad the writer understood this: "Patton, after all, isn't telling girls to abjure college. Far from it. She is advising young women already in college to think seriously about their sexual and romantic choices, and to take advantage of the simultaneity of their own peak nubility and their presence among an abundance of suitable mates such as they are all but certain never to encounter again. Contrary to her detractors' caricature, she is not claiming that marriage is a now-or-never proposition for Princeton women, only that now is far more opportune than later is likely ever to be."

That is exactly what Patton was saying, yet these folks who are complaining about what Patton has said, continue to live in a different world to reality and our own human biology and denying the hypergamous ways of a woman and their continuing rising "standards". The more a women sees and experiences that is higher than what she has already has, she'll want more of it and of a better quality.

One more bit of advice for Susan Patton's son: A lot of your mother's detractors seem gleeful at the thought that her notoriety will rub off on you to your disadvantage--that you'll be embarrassed and women will shun you. As long as you take it all in stride, nothing of the sort will happen. You are now slightly famous. That won't repel women, it will make them curious about you.

But be prepared. Being curious, they will ask questions. You need answers that will heighten their curiosity rather than satisfy it, that will not allow them to pigeonhole you as "too eager to commit" or "just a player," even if you are in fact one or the other. We suggest the following, delivered with a wry half-smile and a slight roll of the eyes: "Oh yeah, Mom really wants grandchildren. I don't know if I'm ready for that kind of commitment."

Wow. It's like Roissy wrote the last two paragraphs of that article.

That writer knows what's up. I especially like his advice to Susan Patton's son:

"You need answers that will heighten their curiosity rather than satisfy it"

Patton (a multi-generational holocaust survivor's) sons would be stone, cold, idiots to 'marry' (lol!) girls from Princeton ! Patton has obviously beta'ed them up good. All she needs now is a co-predator to go in and "close the deal."

Why the downvotes? What, do you people want to marry a liberated American chick with a long sexual history?

[–]RedditBlueit3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Actually, the one place marriage more or less still works is the Upper and Upper Middle Class. Culture, Class, and the Decline of Marriage.

The writing is on the wall: r/Marriagestrike

The contract itself is fundamentally flawed. Add to that the massive infiltration of the family courts by feminists, the corruption of the Child Protection Agency, 'sex and the city' social mores, and any man with a head on his shoulders should absolutely refuse to go along with this 'establishment slavery program.'

[–]RedditBlueit0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sure, and Dalrock argues the same thing. He merely claims that the data doesn't (yet) detect a marriage strike. For Example:

Through a combination of legal and social “reforms”, the US now has what appears on the surface to be a dual family structure but is in legal reality a single family structure organized around the concept of child support. Where in the past a woman needed to secure a formal promise from a man in the form of marriage before she could expect him to support her and the children she bore, in this new structure the law declares that any man she has children by are bound to support her and her children whether she marries or not, and whether or not she honors her own marriage vows.

While men were motivated under the old family structure, they absolutely detest the new child support system of family formation. Under the old system a man who married before fathering children could reasonably expect access to his children and the opportunity to direct their upbringing (in concert with his wife). Under the new system the children are de facto considered the property of the mother, whom the state compels him to pay so she can direct their upbringing generally as she sees fit. Since the new system has removed the incentive for men to work hard to provide for their families, it has to rely instead on threats of imprisonment to coerce men into earning “enough” income. Where men used to take pride in the birth of their children and celebrate with cigars, large numbers of men now fear fatherhood more than anything.

Here is a great discussion about The Red Pill:

This generational shift is the real threat to feminism, and there would be no way to stop this if you wanted to. Shut down every blog in the manosphere and the only question is how long before all of the institutions of our society, from the church and academia to the police and the Supreme Court are populated by men who understand what game teaches. This won’t mean the end of feminism, because the power is already deeply entrenched and we will still have what Rollo has coined the feminine imperative. However, it will mean that feminism won’t have a choke-hold on the discourse, and won’t be able to make men fear the crimethink of examining the true nature of men and women.

Any college princess (especially the attractive ones) have grown up in a completely different world than the rest of us. Their opinions are more valued, they are more likely to get a job, it's much easier to get into a relationship or just get laid, etc.

This will carry on until the wall and suddenly they will rationalize their plight away and blame it on men. Patton is doing these people a favor.

Patton's right. I'm a female with a high IQ and 120+ers aren't easy to come by. In fact, 95% of men are unbearably stupid and unjustifiably arrogant.

Are you one of those unbearably stupid and unjustifiably arrogant men I keep running into?

I sense men flocking to you.... ;-)

Male 120+ers are much more common than female ones.
