I don't think saying things like "be more optimistic, laid-back, and inviting" are technically wrong, it's just that they are absolutely shit pieces of advice. It's like me saying to someone who wants more money to "Learn new skills, and work harder." That's empty advice. That doesn't actually offer practical advice to bounce off of.

More practical advice would be:

Learn new skills

People pay a ton of money for people skilled in enterprise software knowledge like SalesForce. Learn up and study that. Become an expert. Then your company will not be able to afford to lose you. Check out X Y and Z to get started. Learning SalesForce definitely seems like it's down your ally.

Work harder

Constantly take on projects, even when not asked. If the boss is doing something, ask to do it yourself, and then go above on beyond with delivery. Also, pick your battles carefully. Often, it's best to fail a bunch of little things if you can overdeliver one big thing. Focus on the tasks that will impress your superiors that will get you ahead, rather than the people just assigning them to you.

Don't be a downer. People like fun people who can turn anything into a fun joke, or something to be happy about. Do you have a sketchy neighbor? No one wants to hear you complain about how he creeps you out. Instead, joke about how you have escape routes planned or some shit. Something that's fun rather than scary.

If bad shit is happening in your life, don't drag them down with a pitty party. Just say, yeah this is tough, but I'm getting through it. Any ways, it's none of your business. Let's get a drink. This behavior is what separates men from women. We handle our emotions and own our problems. No time for pitty parties.

Laid back

Become outcome independent. Just stop giving a fuck about so much. Stop letting other's opinion of you start defining you, because that'll make you desperate for approval. And stop immediately jumping up like a puppy whenever a girl talks to you. Just do you're own thing, and remain calm.

Inviting person

Don't be the type of person that pushes other's a way. People aren't going to want to be around you when you're a dick who drags people down, or makes them feel threatened. Nor do people want to be around someone that offers no value to the interaction. Offer value, and people will come.
