It is possible to give them almost any sort of test you want. It's called "conversation". Except you won't be able to test above the level that you have achieved yourself.

I do that a lot with people. It helps that I have interviewed many people for highly skilled professional employment in my field. I can get a sense quickly of whether the guy is at least as good as me, worse but competent at a certain level, or bad.

When you get a young girl or woman who is not too experienced, her background is family and friends, and you. You become the most important person in her life. She bonds to you. As she goes thru future stages, especially following a couple kids, things will change and she will be the children's mother and not exactly the sweet girl you met. That stuff is unavoidable.
