We’d been flirting for a few weeks but he didn’t make a move. He was a pot smoker, so I arranged for my roommate to be elsewhere and invited him over to smoke with me. Unfortunately he didn’t get the implied message of being invited to a single girl’s apartment to smoke when her roommate wasn’t home, and he brought his friend with him.

God, I haven't done that in so long. When I was like 14-15 I was so cringey, so it's hard to tell if me approaching the guy (in general) was the issue or if it was just how awkward I was. I would always try to be funny and make them laugh, but my pick up line or joke was so forced it only worked a few times. I was the definition of a try hard, I'd lay it on THICK. If a guy showed interest back (even slightly), because I'm such an overthinker, I already picked him out as "the one" and became overly attached mentally while still remaining distant. Then I started becoming overly sexual (mistake) because uhh... idk, what was 15 year old Verti thinking? Guys like sex= be sexually available= profit. I always ended up in the bro zone and the hoe zone, I had no girl game whatsoever back then.

I don't approach men now. I mean, if I'm in a situation where I'm sitting next to a guy I'm interested in I'll "approach" as in make casual conversation, maybe flirt, but I won't cross a room to go talk to a man.

He'd already asked me to the movies and after said trip, I mentioned I had the special edition of his fave movie at home if he wanted to see it.

We went on a date and he spent the entire time talking about Zelda. I barely got 10 words in. That was the last time I went on a date with a guy. In the 2 years since I've only dated women.

Edit: Just as a side note this guy was actually the most attractive and well adjusted guy I've actually dated. Although my sample size is 4 and I only dated men for 2 years while I was still in high school.

I kept hinting at him that I liked him. He pretend to not know until I was a bit straightforward with the message by saying that I didn't like curly hair itself (on dudes), it's the dudes with curly hair that I liked. That sparked a realization that I probably was talking about him because nobody in class was curly haired. Well, he started acting like an asshole because he had the mindset that just because I liked him, it meant that no matter how he treated me I would like him the same. lol. I made it clear to him that I wasn't only talking about him but any dude who just so happened to have curly hair were my type. Shattered him.

Your subject is fine, if you fleshed it out with a couple of paragraphs to stimulate debate it would go past the filter and be auto up.
