To all those who think that we are misogynists: I'm actually happy that, finally, women will be allowed to drive in the KSA. I'm sure most of us in here are.

I mean "decent" is a low bar. Don't torture puppies and the elderly, and be nice to service workers and you're decent.

If we want to talk attractive personalities, then I'd say: Kind, affectionate, adventurous, generous, loyal, brave, protective.

In b4 "You wouldn't fuck a fat neckbeard with that personality." No, of course not. Assume that this hypothetical man passes the minimum threshold for attractiveness.

[–]SilverGryphonRed Pill Man[S] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good reply, thanks for admitting that looks need to be part of the package.

[–]Scatrereal feminist0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I mean "decent" is a low bar.

All you needed to say.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Luckily I don't have to dumpster dive the dregs of humanity. Female = actual abundance.

[–]Scatrereal feminist0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Haha? are you claiming to be female? Because you sound like an incel strawman troll.

Anyways, if you're serious, you couldn't sound more arrogant if you tried.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I probably could if I tried hard enough. Arrogance doesn't make it less true, though.

[–]Scatrereal feminist0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What's less true exactly?

Female = actual abundance.

Lmao. right. So the gender that's got the monopoly on being sex slaves is the one with abundance? I'm sure that's true

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No, of course not. Assume that this hypothetical man passes the minimum threshold for attractiveness.

Hence why my quest to get plastic surgery is logical, is it not?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yes

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, I think there are times where guys and girls can date across the spectrum even when they aren't PERFECT themselves. For example, when at times someone is a 6/10 and want to date a 8/10, when at times, the 8/10 still finds the 6/10 trying to date him/her at a certain threshold, it can work.

[–]LittleWindowpane 1 points1 points1 points 8 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

How about if he is a fat neckbeard...who is a Medal of Honor winner and founded a nonprofit - more of a fat, gamer veteran with some impressive accomplishments to his name?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Then /u/Butt-Factory and /u/Littleknownfacts would say, oh "he's an amazing man. Just not my type. I'm sure there will be sommmmmeeebody who loves him though! Not me though."

It seems to me that many normies shield themselves from realisation that they basically got lucky to be able to attract opposite sex. It has nothing to do with achievement, getting laid is more like aristocracy, you are born in certain circumstances that either makes you rot in the precariat social class or be born in elite billionaire family. Incels like to blame looks for their misfortune, good-looking people want to believe that looks is not all that counts and that they earned their achievements because "they worked hard".

[–]80_20SCIENCE / non-incel incel advocate / NO PILL1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Exactly, when they say "incels aren't working hard"

what they are really saying is (in their own hidden ego agenda) "I earned what I have"

It is clear incels don't have control, it's just people's egos won't allow them to admit they got something without earning it.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Its so fucking condescending tbh.

Whenever I suggest plastic surgery and leg lengthening they go apeshit over that.

Isn't it self improvement? Isn't it the use of technology to improve quality of life?

[–]Butt-Factory2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (33 children) | Copy Link

accountability, reliability, humor, kindness/ service, honesty.

[–]Scatrereal feminist1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (32 children) | Copy Link

ok, butt-factory. But what traits would an attractive young women consider as someone of a decent personality?

[–]Butt-Factory2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (31 children) | Copy Link

Well I'm attractive and a woman, and not old yet. My standards have been consistent my entire dating life.

[–]Scatrereal feminist1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (30 children) | Copy Link

Well I'm attractive and a woman, and not old yet.

I'm sure that can be proven

My standards have been consistent my entire dating life.

hmm. You weren't more superficial in your youth? Weird because in my high school the most accountable, reliable, honest, kind men were the ones NOT getting laid.

[–]Butt-Factory6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link

there are plenty of physically attractive men with these qualities. In fact, they're the only people I've ever dated. Why do you think only ugly men can be good people?

I can't say my tastes have changed much over the years. All my exes are great guys.

[–]SilverGryphonRed Pill Man[S] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

there are plenty of physically attractive men with these qualities

Aha, so your reply proves my point. Personality alone is not enough, you need good looks as well. Good, then I can continue to act like a jerk as I still won't get the girls I like, no matter how hard I try to be kind.

Thanks Butt-Factory.

[–]LittleknownfactsVaguely Uncivil Comment6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Aha, so your reply proves my point. Personality alone is not enough, you need good looks as well.

You are missing the bigger point. That looks alone are not enough, you need the right personality as well.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

When you don't have the looks it doesn't matter anyways. That's the point.

[–]LittleknownfactsVaguely Uncivil Comment2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

When you don't have the looks it doesn't matter anyways. That's the point.

No it still matters. Physically attractive men without the right personality are no more arousing than a nice car or beautiful painting. I can appreciate the beauty of a fit man, but it doesn't make women lust the way you think it does. You need the personality to match in order to do that.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Actually here is a BETTER question.

Lets say a man is slightly less attractive than your "ideal attractiveness." Lets say he rates a 5-6/10 when you go for 7-8/10 men. Oh, and he's short.

Could personality bridge that gap when he's at least somewhat attractive to you but not quite at the mark you usually go for?

[–]i_have_a_semicolonPurple Pill Woman2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Your point? You asked about personality

[–]Butt-Factory5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

What a childish attitude. "I'm not getting my way, so I'll throw a temper tantrum!"

You say that like it's a threat or something. Go ahead and be repulsive. No one cares.

I'm attractive, so I date attractive people. If you were attractive, you'd do the same. Dating ain't fair, no need to cry about it.

[–]SilverGryphonRed Pill Man[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

It's more comfortable being who I am. I only change if there is a benefit. Knowing that no gains would be made, I stay the same.

I'm not angry as I don't do the NiceguyTM thing. But I still tell others not to be someone's orbiter. What's wrong with helping other dues out?

Oh I get it, it's misogyny to tell men to only help women who are willing to put out. It's a crime to refuse to take care of some other dude's kid. My my, how dare I do such things I'm such a fucking overgrown 30 year baby who needs to be locked up.

Edit: BTW I'm not angry for you, in fact I respect you because you are honest:

I'm attractive, so I date attractive people.

Not many women would say this, so kudos to you

[–]Butt-Factory2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

My god, so fucking whiney!.

Be "who you are", be a dick, don't be a dick, chase women, don't chase women, do nice things for people, don't do nice things for people. No one cares. Just don't complain when your actions have social consequences

[–]SilverGryphonRed Pill Man[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

What social consequences and why are you so angry at me?

I'm cool with women like you as you straight up admit (at least on Reddit) that you only date attractive men. Any criticism I have is intended toward women who blatantly lie that they don't care about looks so as not to appear shallow and avoid loosing orbiters.

Women who are honest about the whole looks thing are more likely to have less orbiters around them and have actually worked for everything they got.

Believe me if everyone was as honest as you there would be far fewer angry dudes out there.

[–]Scatrereal feminist0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

there are plenty of physically attractive men with these qualities

Plenty? or some? What's the ratio, 50/50?

In fact, they're the only people I've ever dated.

I'm sure you're completely unbiased when judging the men you decided to date.

I can't say my tastes have changed much over the years.

So you'd date the same guy today that you would when you were 17? come on. You never changed beliefs or matured?

[–]Butt-Factory6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Plenty? or some? What's the ratio, 50/50?

I'd say that most men I meet are decent people, probably 80%.

I'm sure you're completely unbiased when judging the men you decided to date.

One can't be biased about their own preferences, dingus. If I find someone attractive, they're attractive to me. There's no debating that. Obviously, I think the men I've fucked and dated are hot and nice, or I wouldn't have fucked/ dated them.

So you'd date the same guy today that you would when you were 17? come on. You never changed beliefs or matured?

Like I said, all my exes are great humans. I would absolutely date the guy I was with when I was 17 now under the right circumstances. The man I'm with now is actually very similar to him.

personality traits like honesty and kindness are not things that pop up when a man reaches a certain age. My ex was a kind, giving, honest teenager and he grew into a kind, giving, honest man.

[–]Scatrereal feminist0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

One can't be biased about their own preferences, dingus

huh?

Obviously, I think the men I've fucked and dated are hot and nice, or I wouldn't have fucked/ dated them.

No shit, but do you think you were attracted to their "accountability, reliability, humor, kindness/ service, honesty.", or they're bodies/ energetic personalities?

I would absolutely date the guy I was with when I was 17 now under the right circumstances.

Well then you're either young, naive, or definitely different than me and most people I know. You perceive your partners the same EXACT way as you did when you were 17?

personality traits like honesty and kindness are not things that pop up when a man reaches a certain age.

Right because people are born one way and never change. A person can't build character, god forbid. Anyways, honest, caring, kind, teenagers aren't the ones getting laid.

You can claim "Oh well, not all people of good character are unattractive" but it doesn't really hold water. I mean sure, attractive men can have good character, true. However the most boisterous, rich, tallest men got laid 100x more than the "kind" guy in high school and college.

[–]fetchyminx1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

No man is a bad guy.

[–]Scatrereal feminist0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Profound comment

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

Ok, I think the real question should be, how many of the men that you didn't date/find attractive would you say have the same qualities? Because this would give a measure to what degree those qualities have to be expressed to be considered noteworthy.

Because I think the more underlying question behind op is, whether those are just minimal requirements, or can they be expressed to a degree when they separate the desirable from the rest (which I unfortunately doubt), and if yes, what is that degree.

[–]Butt-Factory2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I answered that. I would say about 80% of the men I know are good and decent, most men are. That's why it's so ridiculous to feel special for not being an asshole.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

True. What is more controversial however, is that the act alone of pushing those qualities further, which conventional wisdom would say you should, seems to have little effect in how women perceive you, which is the bitter part of trp.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Loyal, honest, kind, humorous, intelligent, routine-oriented and home-bodied.

Personality is way more important to me than physical appearance.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

You're a nerdy chick. You guys are exceptions.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Proud autistic nerdlet.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

On another note, there was this one stacy on /r/ForeverAlone who was autistic. Therapists were such assholes to her at times. They were like, "you probably don't have social problems because how you look."

kek

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

That is incredibly ridiculous.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It is.

I agree that being good looking helps, but she was talking about how so many guys just wanted to take advantage of her.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Not only that, but the issue for females with autism is primarily other females. Good looks ain't help there, if anything it may even make it worse, lol.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That applies among autistic men too with other men.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Autistic people are usually the nicest IMO!

[–]HigHog 1 points1 points1 points 8 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

My preferences:

  • Funny and witty, able to make fun of themselves.

  • Sharp, able to keep up with a conversation

  • Kind, empathetic

[–]Scatrereal feminist2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

so like, 70% of men?

[–]HigHog 1 points1 points1 points 8 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

A good portion.

[–]Scatrereal feminist1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

So, pretty much doesn't matter?

[–]HigHog 1 points1 points1 points 8 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

What doesn't?

[–]Scatrereal feminist1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Personality of a man you are considering to be in a relationship. Because most of them fit the mold

[–]HigHog 1 points1 points1 points 8 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yeah, I definitely did not say that.

Men who are bald are in the minority. I guess you think whether someone has hair doesn't matter then?

Men whoa re unemployed are in the minority. I guess women don't care about their partner's jobs then?

Never mind that "decent" is a pretty freaking low bar...

[–]Scatrereal feminist1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

If most men were bald or jobless, you'd have a point. But, you have already admitted most men have the personality traits you desire. and again

Never mind that "decent" is a pretty freaking low bar...

is all you needed to say

[–]HigHog 1 points1 points1 points 8 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

...no. Most men have jobs and hair, just like you assert most men have decent personalities. That's why it's a good analogy to disprove your point.

[–]Scatrereal feminist1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

aren't YOU the one that said

A good portion.

so... like most? correct?

But pretend I asserted this insane notion all you want.

[–]SimplisticHedgehog2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Attractive. proof

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're going to get downvoted by the butthurt women here.

It seems like they don't like actual statistical models showing a clearly positive linear correlation between looks and personality.

Remember guys, when women describe their ideal ideal man's "personality", they're imagining a tall jacked guy with lots of money and social status.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No shit. Does it need to be clearly spelled out with a disclaimer every single time?

[–]Scatrereal feminist1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yea, no shit.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, every time you guys regurgitate the same damn thing. Looks like women love to lie... a lot.

[–]fetchyminx1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (28 children) | Copy Link

How is that even a bad thing?

[–]Scatrereal feminist0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (27 children) | Copy Link

Ah good and bad, getting philosophical. No one claimed anything about "a bad thing".

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Nah, for some women it is realistic. You haven't even seen a lot of the women's faces on this sub.

So as /u/fetchyminx said, its not a bad thing for some women. They have the option.

TBH, even guys will draw the same thing. The ideal women for me would be a 5'8" chick with a model face, amazing tits, an amazing ass, AND is a very intelligent entrepreneur who makes lots of money while being in her mid 20s.

[–]fetchyminx0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

A woman who's 5'8, model face, amazing tits, amazing tits, a very intelligent entrepreneur who makes a lot of women is going to be same amount of uptight as the guy who's tall, handsome and rich

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Of course. She can probably find the tall, handsome, rich guy.

[–]fetchyminx0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Doesn't matter though, a lot of them could have dull personalities

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Of course they can. But they probably only care about looks and status at that point.

[–]fetchyminx0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

But you're obviously portraying it in a negative manner.

[–]Scatrereal feminist0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

Unrealistic != bad.

[–]fetchyminx0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

It's only unrealistic if you want it to be.

[–]Scatrereal feminist1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

If you think every women here will get a tall, jacked man with tons of money and social status, then I got a bridge to sell you..

[–]fetchyminx0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

Not every woman wants that but those who really do want exactly all of that should work for it.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You can't work for it though. Its not a matter of merit. Good looking people try to act like it is to make themselves feel better, but its mostly luck.

Maybe making money isn't all luck. But being good looking helps even in that respect.

[–]Scatrereal feminist0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

And in your world, everyone who works for what they want, gets what they want, correct? Haha, naive

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Probably goes without saying at this point.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Uh, my personal preferences:

  • Fun (aka can make me fun or get me out of my comfort zone)
  • Funny (Makes me laugh or groan at his jokes)
  • Intelligent (I just like someone that can understand my arguments about things)

Every "positive" trait (honesty, stability, etc.) beyond that is bonus and is not necessary.

[–]fetchyminx 1 points1 points1 points 8 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Dominant, straight forward, controlling, emotionally stable & independent.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

controlling, emotionally stable
