Q4RP: Red-Pillers of PPD, what is your position on the "big" political issues that threaten civilization? Do you agree that we ALL have a stake in these issues so that even Dark Triad person, if rational, should want to deal with these issues?

climate change

Don't care. If it was a real issue then Al Gore the poster boy wouldn't use ten times more energy then me heating his massive home. Come to think of it, the biggest climate change talkers are the biggest wasters.

(i) I'm not really concerned about climate change. I suppose I can elaborate on this if required.

(ii) There is a constant threat of nuclear war. Full-scale nuclear war very nearly occurred during the Cuban Missile Crisis. It could easily happen one day. On the one hand, people in powerful positions will tend to want to avoid this as it's not really in their interest, but they also pursue numerous destabilising policies, and these tend to increase the risk of such outcomes as nuclear war.

I feel I am completely powerless to have any influence over this whatsoever, so I don't see any point in sitting around worrying about it. Ultimately, I believe in a completely different structure for society, but that is not remotely likely to even begin to occur during my lifetime, so I'm not really invested in political issues any more. I view the political system and politicians with disdain, I keep an eye on what is going on, but most of it is just a theatre to con the great unwashed into thinking they have some sort of say in their own lives and that events on the political stage are random and not carefully planned behind closed doors.

(iii) Terrorism doesn't threaten civilisation, it is a pretty wanky threat, to say the least. Of course it is sad when people die due to bombings and such like, there was a prominent bombing just down the road from me a few days ago. If you went back even as little as 30 years, there was virtually no terrorism emanating from Muslims; in Britain Irish-Catholics would have, rightly, been seen as a much greater threat. It's taken decades of dismal policies to create the existing situation, but 'terrorists' are no threat to the status quo whatsoever.

In terms of whether I'm worried about a terrorist getting a nuclear weapon, the United States and Russia both have thousands of nuclear weapons, they have an extremely fractious relationship, the US has already used the atom bomb twice, and nuclear war was extremely close during the Cuban Missile Crisis. So I'm really not concerned about the extremely unlikely scenario of a terrorist acquiring a nuclear weapon.

In terms of what I can do about this, it is pretty minimal as long as the majority of people continue to have the wool pulled over their eyes every day, and are willing to offer their unending acquiescence to the existing political and SES systems.

(iv) You can't do anything about a pandemic whatsoever.

If I don't have kids I have little skin in the game and it barely matters. That's the consequence of modern low trust no community cohesion societies. I heavily oppose actions that involve reaching into my pocketbook or placing violent useless people near me but that's about it

A lot of the actions people take nowadays are for minimizing their stake in society

I do frequently talk about societal decline in here but it's more from a matter of fact point of view since I'm insulated to where I don't care much

I'd said it before, and I'll say it again, the biggest common denominator to most of these and our collective problems is having Muslims and Christians in power. People who's ultimate dream or fulfilment for the world is seeing it in ashes of war shouldn't be in charge of our governments, foreign relations, or any control of a military. They have no stake in the environment, since their great deity will just come fix it anew for them anyway.

Could you help me find a simple graph with the 'earth's average temperature' on the y axis and the 'year' on the x axis? Maybe I'm bad at googling, but I only find graphs that show 'change in temperature' or other variables. I'm looking for a simple 'temperature vs earth's age' graph.
