How do you reconcile TRP with your wife (if you're married), or married life. Do you discuss TRP with her? Or do you incorporate the theories into your day to day life?

You NEVER discuss TRP with ANYBODY - women just plain won't understand it and see it as evil, and guys will act out against it unless they are at a point in their lives where they are open to accepting it.

I'm married and TRP is very useful because our wives are WOMEN. Dread game, passing shit tests, captain /first mate dynamic - these are ALL useful. Having a wife is easy - KEEPING a wife is hard, and internalizing and applying TRP will help keep your marriage going strong.

If you're needing to make MAJOR changes, be ready for some resistance. When your wife sees you working out, improving yourself and standing up to her, she will assume the worst and act out. When you no longer buckle under her threats, tantrums and shitty behavior, she will wonder where you're getting your new backbone from. After a while - once she's sure you're serious about being a MAN who gets what he wants, she will accept and start to love the new you. Just maintain frame, improve and ask questions as needed.

I made sure my dog reads a book on how to train dogs on a regular basis.

Of course I don't discuss TRP with my wife or my girlfriend. Occasionally I will say something about how I think a man should behave, or how silly someone is for doing something we would call blue pill behaviour. But living the life is where it's at.

Athol Kay's blog and book are great. Married Man Sex Life is the book/blog. Check it out.

He's got it down pretty well -- TRP without too much PUA (just enough).

Rollo Tomasi's site at The Rational Male is excellent, too. He's married with a daughter, too.

If I had a daughter? I'd show her how I am the leader of the home without being the dictator. I'd show her how much her mother earns my love and devotion ("rewards") while also not being afraid to punish bad behavior.

She will want a man like that for her.

Say Nothing to her! If you speak of TRP, you will blow it ( she will NOT )

As a counter: RP awareness has prepared us for the challenges we are about to face when I take over earning for a while. We know the problems most couples with breadwinning women have and why they have them. We also know that as a pretty submissive woman I am going to dislike being the main earner and as a very dominant and independent man he's going to dislike being unemployed. But this awareness means we're prepared to work through it and tide the storm. It'd be hard to give in to the typical patterns once we've already worked out what the irrational, subconscious process behind those feelings is.

Guys are better doing than talking so my advice is to STFU and live your values.

However women can be surprisingly RP aware at times, especially when its related to how men behave and how it impacts their attraction to men.

Beyond that, you best be careful since if the argument goes bad you'll use logic and she will use emotions. You'll lose that argument and lower your value.

of course TRP is anti LTR. long-term relationships will never give you the butterflies that a short-term relationship (<1 year) has.

Not even bluepillers argue that their relationship after a few years is similar to the one they had in the beginning. oh yes, they say these intense feelings from the beginning have been replaced with .. "love".

what they mean is not "love", but convenience. a fellow rp pointed it out

A plate will fall in love with you deeper in a week than an LTR will ever love you in 50 years.

that is the hard truth. of course you will find even find the occasional redpiller trying to rationalize the loss of passion in his LTR.

Uh, happily married for 17 years, together for 24. Have more sex now than ever. Better at it, too. Butterflies? We've got pterodactyls. LTRs aren't the antithesis of TRP, they're just a sophisticated permutation of it. Advanced Game, if you will.

There is a difference between infatuation and love. You can have both, if you do it right. But it takes effort, preparation, and iron will. Not for the faint of heart.

If you had to do it all over again, would you get married?

[–]The Red Pill RoomIanIronwood2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

To Mrs. Ironwood? Yes, definitely. To 99% of the rest of the female population? Hells, no.

Mrs. Ironwood is exceptional. That's why I married her. If you can find a decent woman, early enough, and vet her religiously, it can be done. If it helps keep things in perspective, I met her when she was 19.

In general I don't recommend marriage to men these days for obvious reasons. But for those of us who are Wolf Alphas, family men for whom raising high-quality children is our top priority, then I counsel to proceed with caution. Vet for at least two years before you even consider the issue of marriage. If she fails your test, move on.

I've actually done a series of posts at my blog on this, under the topic "Wife Test". Check it out.

Thanks man. I know everyone around here says "don't get married", but that's not really an option for those of us who want kids. I'll use that test in the future

TRP isn't intrinsically anti-LTR. TRP suggests a soft-harem model only because many men innately desire fucking multiple women, as well as the fact that marriages are simply too risky in a Western climate.

There are many TRP'ers who prefer LTR's over plate-spinning.
