this got me think about TRP claims women want dominant men.

So TRP often states the women want dominant men.

That may or may not be.

But there is the thing i have observed in my time on this rock. women don't want sycophants, they may or may not want submissive men. but they absolutely don't want sycophantic men. Actually no one wants to date a sycophant period man or woman.

Submission and sycophancy are different concepts.

When your boss tells you to do some thing and you do it aren't necessarily being sycophant but you are being submissive, when you are so eager to do some thing that you are tossing you bosses salad you are being sycophantic. Now imagine dating that ass kisser. You see my point? an other why to think about is House niggers (sycophant playing to a power base ) and field niggers (does what is told doesn't like or agree). [am extreme example but makes the point] OR politicians (sycophant) & corporations (master) and corporation (submissive) and laws ( dominate). Or Dog(sycophant)/ master vs cat/ owner (who know who is the submissive in that case)

Or in other words a sycophant is a willing slave ( typically approval seeking), in this context to women but it could be a boss or any one who will give them approval. the submissive merely gives deference.

With a D/s relationships their is interplay. its not a strict i tell you to do stuff and you do it, or you beg for approval. A sycophant will never challenge its master and submissive will challenge their dominant.

I think i have illustrated the difference.

I think that is the issue with TRP and submissive vs dominant men is that they confuse and conflate sycophancy for submission. sycophancy is at best an extreme of submission and at worst a complete mind break in which the sycophant will do any thing for any amount of approval. basically a sycophant will completely sublimate their will to another in some case beg for it (IE nice guys)

Think about it like this:

think about the relationship wreak has with Ramsey Bolton and the relationship Tyrion has with Kalesea. Both are in the submissive role but wreak is sycophantic and tryion isn't

Sycophancy communicates desperation, which isn't a attractive trait in any one period. Even in the kink community sycophantic subs don't get play with out pay (ussualy). We even have term for them 'worthless worms' because that's how they act (sometimes literally).

Tldr don't be sycophant it's unattractive and signals mental health issues
