Who are some good role models for men and women today?

I would say that each person should find someone in their field or area of interest that has accomplished the type of things that they would like to do and find out how they did it. You'll need different role models for your career, hobbies, etc.

Celebrity and athlete "role models", who have no personal knowledge of your existence, are inadequate for purposes of emulating respectable behavior.

Instead, emulate community role models, who are your community's civic and business leaders. To do this, you usually have to start networking with others, which takes considerable patience, a lot of practice, and acceptance of some TRP ideals, like confidence, dominance/submission, and abundance mentality.

Personally, my father is my role model, as are many of his business partners and friends.

As far as female role models, I find Emmy Noether very inspiring. Her work in theoretical physics is huge, and no one has ever heard of her. She basically proved that many of the conservation laws that we know where the result of symmetries in nature. Want to know why energy or momentum has to be conserved? Look up Noether's theorem. She also did a bunch of other stuff critical to modern day mathematics.

One female role model that is still alive is Maryam Mirzakhani. She is a brilliant mathematician, and the first female to ever win the Fields medal, the most prestigious award in mathematics. It gives me hope that you can succeed as a female in a male dominated field.

More personally, I still want to be just like my dad. He is the kindest, most compassionate, selfless, hard-working, and intelligent person I have ever met. He taught me science when I was younger, and taught me to question things for myself. Of course I'm biased because he is my dad, but he really is awesome.

Also, one of my friends is a role model to me. She never thinks about herself or her own needs. She exudes warmth, love and acceptance. One of our other friends acting really shitty towards her once, but she forgave her immediately, even though the other friend never apologized. Some times I wish she would be a little more selfish, but I also admire her so much. She is such a beautiful person inside and out.

Thinking about it now, I've had a lot of really wonderful people in my life.

There is a guy in my gym. Clearly late 50's or early 60's. Grey as a very grey thing. Still got a trim body, still looking pretty good (he's not a power lifter), just looks like a pretty awesome guy.

I can barely manage one pull up (still on the lat machine). He straps a 15kg kettle bell to his belt and does pull-ups.

So he's kinda a role model for me.

I'm a bit idiosyncratic so I don't usually look up to role models much. Want to be grey and pulling up with that kettlebell though.

Elizabeth Holmes. Not just because I think chemical engineers are sexy. No it is because she actually got where she is through merit instead of the "pussy pass TM" or "slept" her way to the top. I think a lot of people can learn from that.

I like Tim Tebow, granted I admit he may have oversauced on the public front and it may or may not be sincere, but it's my understanding that he's a halfway decent person..... and that's miles better than the current shit athletes/celebrities are doing today.

I had an old African American professor who taught me chemistry at my CC..... he overcame peer pressure, low funds and hoes throwing himself at his pimp ass to get a Chemistry degree and work at Sandia, he also had more energy at the end of the class than the students. I want to be like him when I get that old.

Role models for genders don't exist - people are not trying to be champions of their genitalia. There are plenty of role models for being a generally good person, or for embodying certain virtuous characteristics, but not for proper attention paid to hormones.

Henry Rollins is a pretty decent male role model. Self-made man, had to overcome a rough start, is independent in every sense of the word.
