Technology changes have irreversibly changed how the sexes interact and I think is the primary driver for why men feel so unsatisfied with today's women. In the past I don't think we had much exposure to many people of the opposite sex and the reduced number of choices actually increased a person's happiness with their spouses, scarcity meant you either hit the jackpot or were much more comfortable settling with someone you had no idea was inferior to what else was out there. This is such a huge contrast to the tens of millions of pubescent girls who spend their adolescence pining after the five members of One Direction.

Nowadays we are bombarded over the course of our lifetime with millions of faces of potential partners, huge amounts of celebrities in the media and very wide social nets with many more of the people in the world. This leads to anxiety in the minds of men and women who constantly are on guard second guessing what they have and considering deviating for something better. The important point is that women have greater access to top tier genetics than men do so men are affected more.

That's why entire industries are now dedicated to titillating and arousing men by providing atomised segments of what the relationship experience provides (strippers, cam girls, prostitutes) that give a hollow imitation of the real thing. Even though a man's desire will prop up demand for these industries the experience of paying for something other people get for free because you have no other choice is a fundamentally humiliating experience for these men.

Not only are men titillated by porn and sex industries but they are also titillated by the women around them who can leverage friendships and friendzones which they wouldn't otherwise enter into for the mere chance of something they insatiably desire.

TRP is a reaction to this and comprises a revolt from being titillated and manipulated by what they have ended up in the modern world and instead grabbing what they have always wanted. This is the idea that they are shilling rather than the product that was PUA and that idea puts me off even though I agree with most of their analysis of TRP. It's not "misogynistic" as TBP wants to put it but I do find it corny and embarrassing to chase after satisfying our primal senses of narcissism, ego and selfishness because it instantly signals weakness and does very little for a person like me who doesn't have that same built up resentment.
