Hi ladies, this is my first post and I want to give a huge thank you!

I (22) finally got the courage to leave a man (24) who has been stringing me along for months (very dumb of me, I know.) In the beginning he seemed like the perfect gentleman. Taking me out on dates, paying for all of my meals. Treated me how a woman should be treated. But overtime, he started to become inconsistent and I would go a week or two without hearing from him. He always blamed it on depression and anxiety and I would take him back with open arms.

Overtime, the inconsistent communication really started to bother me and every time I would complain he’ll just apologize and say that he will do better. After we been dating for some months I told him that I feel that it’s time for us to enter a relationship and his excuse was “I’m focused on my career and other things right now.” I accepted that and moved on, I started to date other people while still dating him.

His communication skills were still terrible and he would often still disappear. I finally reached my breaking point after asking him why he couldn’t take atleast 5-10 minutes out of his day to atleast send a text message and was given nothing but excuses. I calmly told him that we both want different things in life and that that’s okay. Before I could finish my sentence, he stormed out angry so I texted him saying that I want to see other people and that the situation is toxic. It’s time for us to both move on but we can remain friends.

After that he began to call me childish and immature and everything else. I simply told him I no longer want to even be friends anymore. Let’s just exit each other’s life. I then proceeded to block him on everything. Can’t believe I wasted so much time on him. I’m just glad I realized my worth thanks to FDS, and I will never again ask a man to do the bare minimum. I would scroll this sub for days and every post about LVM would remind me of him. I realized that I should no longer have to put up with this and my happiness is much more important.
