I have an interest in visiting other countries. Haven't done it yet because work+money. Now I have some free time and saving. I was thinking of visiting south america this holiday season.

I have an online latina (not LDR) who invited me to her country. Said I can stay with her. I was thinking taking $500 and going for a week.

Now my Spanish isn't great I'm working on it. She's pretty good at English. But I am concerned if there'll be communication issues. As well as safety.

Does anyone have experience with this? What should I expect or lookout for?
