I'm at a loss for what direction I should take my life and it seems that I may be developing some form of depression. I went monk mode a while back, got my degree, applied for other jobs, got a job, moved out of state, and have been insanely lonely ever since.
I've had my fair share of experience with females in the past and was able to manage/mask underlying social anxiety for the most part. I lift all the time but I now do it during my break at work in order to save time and get it done for the day, which has kind of taken the magic out of the gym experience for me; the gym used to be my temple. I have most of my debt paid off and a good emergency fund. I drink maybe a few beers once every two months and no longer go out to bars.
All of this seems like it should have been a step in the right direction but it's like I worked hard so I could continue aging. Besides work, I have little human interaction, I don't go out, and tech has given me too many outlets that enable not having to leave the house. I understand new jobs can be stressful so maybe that's contributing as well.
Anyway, it's become a negative feedback loop, where staying isolated for so long has made my social ability and mindset terrible, yet I hate the isolation. At the same time, nothing excites me anymore. I save all of my money because there's nothing I want and I'd rather have good finances. I'm not sure bars would be the right solution, nor am I sure I have the social aptitude to go out and game women anymore.
Has anyone experienced this stage in life and do you have advice? I feel blindsided by the side effects of getting my shit together.
