I live close to you, the perfect store for me is called Massimo Dutti. Also, google 'Casual fashion style men'. That's how I dress. Get a pair of boots, jeans, chinos, nice coat, and some shirts (white, light blue, dark blue black, denim, whatever).

If you're rocking mostly the t-shirt jeans and sneakers look, just add in a few extra pieces to complement. For example, some long sleeve henleys, plaid button downs, some chinos, and maybe some chukka boots. Doesn't have to get too complicated. Stick with earth tones and grays, and ditch the graphics on the shirts. Also pick up a nice structured jacket.

You are right there are diminishing returns if you do too much and get too involved in this fashion stuff. So, just stick to basics. fashionbeans.com have basics guides for every clothing, including suits and stuff, color combo, etc. There is a site lookastic.com where you choose your clothes and it tells you what to match with what, i use it when i m not sure if my jeans match with the top or sneakers.

The most important bit is the fit. Stick to slim fit T shirts and shirts, slim fit jeans/chinos.

For tops stick with neutral colours ( black, white, gray, navy ). Get jeans in black/dark blue/ light blue. Chinos in grey/dark blue/tobacco(or whatever its called sand,etc ).

Get sneakers in white/black, boots in brown/black ( chelsea boots are quite popular for nights out and stuff, timberland boots for everyday with jeans a good combo, too )

Get some cool jackets, maybe a leather jacket, too.

I'll say it again, fit is the most important, a $10 t shirt that fits really well will look 100x better than a $200 one that doesn't fit ( too short, too tight, too long, too loose, etc )

With these things alone you can do dozens of combos that will look good, and when you are not sure just use the lookastic site or just google the clothes and see if there are male models with these combos. ( for example, white sneakers, sand chino, white t shirt, navy jacket is a popular combo )

Start basic . Go to uniqlo, buy a black shirt , white shirt , light gray and a dark gray shirt . Get 2 of each for the black and white . Get a pair of Levi 511’s in light blue wash and a jet black pair . Get doc marten 1460 boots in black , and a pair of white sneakers . Stan smiths are cheap .
